Wow, that's really unfortunate @Taylorhe so glad you were in sim! I can't express this enough - mechanical keyboards/keypads for trading.

Exactly this - I was mentioning it a couple weeks back in this same thread. Still happy people have found it to be working with other avenues, but there is no stabler option than Bootcamp.

Pre-market and After-hour trade
Justin replied to [email protected]'s topic in Day Trading Hardware, Software and Tools
Definitely! With the right platform (like DAS) you'll be able to monitor everything just like it was intraday. -
Man, I wish I had that kind of financial drive when I was that young. Welcome! Hey Cindy! I’m from SF as well We have quite a large group of traders from the area. Keep an eye out for a Bay Area meetup; hopefully we’ll have one soon after the stay-in-place order has finished!

Setting up DAS with IB
Justin replied to Antonio Dimitrovski's topic in Day Trading Hardware, Software and Tools
That is correct! And you probably are, but make sure you are getting it through the BBT (link) as if you get the regular Deluxe package ARCA is already set up instead of having to ask IB to give it to you after the fact. And the Deluxe Plus package is $10 cheaper than buying it directly through DAS for the same thing (they call it the Elite package). -
Setting up a stop loss in DAS Trader
Justin replied to nathaniel blaiklock's topic in DAS Trader Pro Tips and Tricks
You should 100% look into Kyle's hotkeys. It will automatically calculate how many shares to take based on your equity and how much you want to risk, it will enter a position and it will place a stop loss all with one hotkey. It will make your life a lot easier. -
Setting up a stop loss in DAS Trader
Justin replied to nathaniel blaiklock's topic in DAS Trader Pro Tips and Tricks
Ah, because the instructions I posted are only for setting a stop loss. It's for if you are already long in a position. If you're already long, and you bought 100 shares of stock xyz, and you want to set a stop loss. You need that stop loss to sell those 100 shares back to get out of your position. Although, are you actually asking how to set up a stop loss at the same as going long or short? -
Hey Nathaniel, First step is to make sure your Montage is in the Stop Order style: Right click montage at the bottom > Style > Stop Order Your Montage Trade section will look like this: Lets say you are long 100 shares on a stock at $50.00. And you want a stop loss at $49.80. Simply put 100 shares into the Share field Change the Route to STOP Change the Stop Type to Market Put 49.80 in the Trigger Price Click SHRT

I feel like we should put a PSA up against Falcon Trading Computers.... They are just overpriced computers. Just price out a Dell desktop with two 24" monitors for $1,084.12 including taxes/fees: 9th Gen Intel Core i3-9100 (4-Core, 6MB Cache, up to 4.2GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology) Windows 10 Home 64bit English NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 SUPER™ 6GB GDDR6 8GB DDR4 at 2400MHz; up to 64GB (additional memory sold separately) 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s (64MB Cache)

Hey Patrick, as you've already seen DAS system requirements are quite low. Although in respect to RAM, I think it's a worthy part of your investment. It's not just DAS, but also Windows 10, and Chrome running chat (which is a hog). Just a quick look on Best Buy shows many laptops between $300-$400 with 8GB of RAM. Which is always why I recommend people to simply buy the best specs at whatever they can comfortably afford; you don't need to break the bank on this.
-
Hey Andrew, DAS' system requirements are actually extremely low. You could buy a $300 laptop and meet them. I'm not recommending that, but it just makes the point Which is why I always recommend people to simply buy the best specs at whatever they can comfortably afford; but you don't need to break the bank on this.

Hot Buttons stopped to work DAS
Justin replied to Guillaume's topic in DAS Trader Pro Tips and Tricks
I think that's my point. Your "Hot Button Window" is still a montage. I believe you will need to add the "Trade" section (you can remove it after) to change that montage's (with your hot buttons) to target the right account. You can then save it so it stays on the right account by right clicking in the Trade area and selecting "Order Template" and changing the default account there. But just one thing to note is that I don't believe (even though you've anchored the windows) that if you change the targeted account on your main montage, it will not change it on your "Hot Button" montage. You'd have to open up the Trade section again to change it. -
First... Welcome Gordon! I think what you said about personal preference is really true. It's not so much about the specs of monitor, but what you can fit on your desk and what can you afford If you're not a gamer I wouldn't worry about refresh rate and resolution. Especially refresh rate. Hard to find a monitor below 23" anymore, so bigger than that is nice. Having two monitors is great, if you want to monitor more stocks at once, getting 3-4 is ideal. Following chat often takes up one or half a monitor so keep that in mind. And check out this playlist of YouTube videos on the BBT channel. It shows a bunch of our member's setups! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwk96tt6SpMEzH_hwzwkNs0zsN0lPHMJm

Hot Buttons stopped to work DAS
Justin replied to Guillaume's topic in DAS Trader Pro Tips and Tricks
I could be wrong, but I'm thinking it's because you have two montage's there. The one on the right will have it's own trade and account routing. If you right click on the top bar > config > move "Trade" from the left to right. You'll be able to change what account that montage window uses. -
I know - just needling you a bit I think most people are aware if you have an injury, exercise and rehab are necessary. But a good chair is a tool to help with holding a proper position - because that is the hard part. That being said, I still want to see someone with a rock for a computer chair!
-
I don't have any information to help you with; just support! I'd just love to see a new scanner come out of BBT to go up against the other scanner companies.

I expect to see a photo of your rock chair tomorrow

Yeah, Ben has it close! You simply right click the edge of one of those windows, the Frame Window Configure will pop open and you uncheck "No Title Bar".

$1000 mistake early last year. Brand new Logitech G915.... Never again. Running the wired version now, G815.

The ultimate ergonomic chair - From someone else who has lower back and neck pain from a car accident when I was a child https://www.fully.com/hag-capisco-chair.html You can see it in my video

That's correct. BBT is kind enough to pay for a public license of Trade Ideas... So I would gather the vast majority of users do not scan for their own stocks, as it's rather expensive software.

Would be happy to help and jump into a zoom meeting. Could do any day this coming week a few hours after the open. Why don't you PM me and we can set a time. Payment isn't necessary.
