  1. Interesting. Do you have the Trades window for those executions? I'm curious to see whether the Price column in Trades window matches the Account Report or the Orders window.
  2. Here is how to add a dashed line for the market open and market close. This is helpful to distinguish pre/post market from regular trading hours. Right-click Chart > Configure Check Market Open Line and/or Market Close Line in the top left. You should see dashed vertical lines for the Market Open and/or Close.
  3. Here is a useful tip for how to change the font size in your charts. Right-click Chart > Configure On the left-hand size, click the box to the right of Label (Price/Time) Change font accordingly The font should now be changed for both the X and Y axes.
  4. TJ, I don't day trade in my Questrade accounts. You cannot short inside TFSA/RRSP, and there is no margin either. To calculate margin from the maintenance excess percentages, just divide 1 over. For example, 25% maintenance = 1/0.25 = 4:1 My reply above was written before Andrew announced Capital Markets Elite Group. They accept Canadian clients and have very competitive commissions plus DAS!
  5. From DAS Command Tip This is to round the order price to specified number of decimals to avoid too many decimals which could lead to order being rejected. Currently Round1, Round2, Round3 and Round4 are supported, which correspond to 1 ,2 ,3 and 4 decimals. For example, if original price is 25.238, after executing hotkey "Price=Round2", new price will be 25.24.
  6. Hi Monk, that is correct. It is in the order setup in Study Config.
  7. Pankaj, please upload your screenshot to imgur.com or another image hosting site then paste the link in your reply.
  8. I'm with IB and currently trade 100 share sizes. My commissions are 0.0035/share, with a minimum of 0.35 per ticket. This is considerably less than CMEG, but maybe my scaling out strategy could provide some insight. I exit 1/3 of my current position at a time. So starting with 100 shares, I exit the first 33 shares after a 0.25 to 0.30 cent move. This leaves me with 67 shares. If the price action is choppy, I may exit another third (22 shares) at this same level. The remaining 67 or 45 shares I hold onto until my profit target. Here I usually tap the hotkey 2 to 4 more times and try to maximize profits. I keep my last 10-20 shares until break-even or new 5-min low/highs. Since I am mostly out, there is no rush to exit and I watch for bullish/bearish signals. A typical round-trip trade is usually 5-7 tickets. This exit strategy isn't feasible at $2.95/trade on 100 shares. Perhaps you could exit in 2 steps. First half after a sizable move in your direction, and the last half at your target. This way you can lock in some profit and move your stop to break-even. Trading low floats in an attempt to minimize commissions is a very risky strategy. With a smaller account, I would recommend that you focus on surviving the learning curve until you can grow or add more capital. Breaking even after commissions in the first few months is considered success in my books. My two cents.
  9. Marek, you don't need Pink Sheets for the type of stocks we trade. OPRA is for options, which we also don't trade. I would go with: -Nasdaq Total View (Book Depth) -NYSE ARCA Book Not sure if Regional Quotes (Basic Level 2) is redundant with Total View. Best to ask SpeedTrader. These are the standard DAS packages. Most of us subscribe to Deluxe which comes with data feeds that aren't really required. I wish DAS allowed for more granular selection like SpeedTrader does.
  10. Ekhall, here's an which covers all stop types. This is a sample script for a SELL trailing stop, with a 0.50 trailer: Share=Pos;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Trailing;TrailPrice=0.50; TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send; For a BUY trailing stop, try this: Share=Pos;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Trailing;TrailPrice=0.50; TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send; 1. In the video they demonstrate the percentage stop, but I haven't gotten it to work in DAS. Perhaps they removed it in newer versions? 2. Since your hotkey sends both a BUY/SELL and a STOP, of course a second stop order will be queued. It would get pretty complicated trying to script for this. How about creating a second hotkey for scaling in? You could try something like this so the 2nd trailing stop is only for half of your entire position: ROUTE=LIMIT;Price=Ask+0.05;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send;Share=Pos/2;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Trailing;TrailPrice=0.50; TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send; Let me know how it goes.
  11. In terms of DAS, yes. Please note that Andrew's scanners, Trade Ideas, is a completely separate product.
  12. This happens sometimes in DAS. I believe it is a bug. The 1-minute, 5-minute, and Montage can all have different values for VWAP; it can range from pennies to dimes apart. I normally trade what's on the chart since I assume that is what other traders are looking at.
  13. You mentioned PDT rules apply for SpeedTrader. That mostly just means you have to maintain at least $25,000 in your account, correct? I’m planning on depositing $30,000 into my account. Also, what margin does SpeedTrader offer? SpeedTrader requires $30k minimum to open an account. Accounts with $25k or more get 4:1 day trading margin and 2:1 overnight margin. See their policy page for reference.
  14. Monk, I use the keyboard hotkeys, not the buttons in the Montage. My default is set to 1,000 and I use the arrow keys to adjust the order before executing an order (SHIFT+X). I believe you can use the code for a hot button as well. It's worth a shot: Name | KEY: Command Halve | KeyLeft: Share=Share/2 Double | KeyRight: Share=Share*2 -100 | KeyDown: Share=Share-100 +100 | KeyUp: Share=Share+100 To change default order size, go to Setup > Order Templates. For Q--Nasdaq, enter the default shares. Click Apply. Select N--NYSE and set the default share size. Click Apply again, then Quit. This sets your global default. For each Montage that you want to use the global default, right-lick the bottom area and select Order Template. There is a check mark for 'Use Global Default'. This will link that montage to the global setting you set above.
  15. Hotkey. Andrew doesn't enter things manually into the Montage (as you can see from his very minimalist Montage window). Personally, I use 1000 as my default share size. I set up the left/right arrow keys to halve/double the shares, respectively. I set up the up/down arrow keys to add/subtract 100 shares, respectively. This allows for quick adjustment before entering a position. Others are using a hotkey which automatically selects share size based on buying power.
  16. Right-click > Trend Lines > TrendLine Or enable the toolbar and click the diagonal blue arrow Or program a hotkey with command: TrendLine Click and drag once the cursor is enabled.
  17. Viet, which version of DAS are you on? This feature was only added in 5.2.0.15. To check your version, go to Help > About To update, go to Tools > Auto Upgrade
  18. FB Over-Trading - March 26, 2018 FB was in play and presented very nice, clean price action for the entire session. I missed the huge ORB that most people caught at the open, but ended up trading the stock 6 times. 5 turned out to be winners. 1st Trade - Reverse ABCD After the huge sell-off in the first hour, I waited for a pullback to get in on the short frenzy. I waited for consolidation, followed by a bearish engulfing candle to confirm that sellers were back in control. The entry was 151.90, with a stop at the 9EMA above ($153). The target was the LOD for a risk:reward of 1.4. I took profit 4 times at the LOD and beyond, with the final exit at break-even. 2nd Trade - ABCD Long After FB squeezed the shorts on a bottom reversal (which I missed), I waited for it to get back to VWAP. I never go long below VWAP unless it is a reversal play. After testing VWAP a couple of times, I entered on a new 5-minute high at 154.59. My target was the 50MA with a stop below VWAP. The risk to reward was 2.2. Again, I sold in 4 steps at my target and kept the last bit for break-even which took nearly 2 hours to hit. 3rd Trade - Top Reversal I'm not very proud of this trade because I missed the new 5-min low on the previous candle. I waited for a pullback to finally short at 156.66. It wasn't the greatest entry and I was forced to use a moving average on the 1-min chart as a stop. I would normally classify this as a chase since a big chunk of the move had already passed. My target was the 9MA and 20MA, for a risk:reward somewhere around 2. The bearish drop continued and I covered in 5-6 steps at my targets. 4th Trade - ABCD Long After closing out my position on the previous short, I saw what looked like an ABCD pattern forming. I jumped the gun and went long before a new 5-min high was being confirmed. Big mistake. The stock tanked on a huge red candle afterward and I missed my stop. FB plunged through the 9 and 20 MA's like a hot knife through butter. I ended up holding for 30 minutes before taking the $1/share loss. 5th Trade - ABCD Long Like the trade before, I saw a potential ABCD forming in the final half-hour. This time I waited for a new 5-min high and volume. Buyers came in like crazy and I managed to go long at 156.08. My target was the 200MA, with a stop below the consolidation area around 155.5. The risk:reward was 2.8. Seeing how volatile the price action was, I took profit before my target but kept some for the moving average. 6th Trade - Scalp to Previous Day Close After watching the momentum train leave without me, I saw a chance to go long an ABCD pattern on the 1-minute chart. I waited for a pullback and went long at 158.80. My target was the PCL at 159.4, for a risk:reward of 1.6. In all honesty, I was only hoping for a 0.50 move, but the price punched through the PCL like Jean-Claude Van Damme in his Bloodsport days (Dim Mak!). I took profit above the PCL and $160. Facebook has been really clean as of late. Despite the negative press and huge sell-off, clear patterns are presenting themselves throughout the day. There are plenty of long and short opportunities for the patient trader. Volume is stellar and spread is tiny. I wish all stocks behaved this way!
  19. Awesome trades, Brendon! Thanks for sharing. I took the VWAP reversal move in between your 1st and 2nd trade. We combined for a hat trick on OMER.
  20. Avinash, that is my understanding since DAS--and its licensed re-brands--are the order execution platforms. SpeedTrader Pro should have the same benefits of having servers collocated with NASDAQ, etc. I would ask SureTrader support to see if there is any speed/fill difference between their product and regular DAS. I don't believe there is a DAS+SpeedTrader option, only DAS+IB. Andrew recommends SpeedTrader which he posted here. Gianluca, I believe regulatory fees are excluded (SEC, FINRA, ECN, etc.). Please contact SpeedTrader support to confirm.
  21. Avinash, SpeedTrader Pro is actually DAS used under license.
  22. OMER VWAP Reversal - March 22, 2018 OMER gapped up a whopping 60% this morning. I missed the 5-min ORB to the downside as I was in another trade. At 9:45 AM, the stock failed to make a new low and had put in a double bottom. I went long at 16.20, with a stop at 15.75. My target was VWAP and the MA's above. The risk/reward was somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1.6. The stock was strong and kissed VWAP. I took profit along the way as it began losing steam. The following candle was a shooting star Doji which was also very concerning. I prepared to exit all at break-even. Luckily, it popped again to VWAP. Somehow I missed the exit at 17.15 and I sold my remaining shares on a new 5-min low. This was my first time taking a VWAP Reversal after seeing Brian and Andrew calling them in the chat recently. I may have jumped the gun on the entry as the bullish candle had not closed yet. Andrew went on to take the same trade when the candle closed at 9:50, with an entry around 16.50.
  23. Try this for a short position: Share=Pos;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Market;StopPrice=AvgCost+0.10;TIF=DAY+;BUY=SEND
  24. Anthony, this is a stop for 0.10 below average cost: Share=Pos;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Market;StopPrice=AvgCost-0.10;TIF=DAY+;SELL=SEND This is a limit for 0.10 above average cost: ROUTE=LIMIT;Price=AvgCost+0.10;Share=Pos;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send; Please test them out in simulator to ensure they are working correctly. Andrew also made this post on how to send an automatic stop loss with your initial order.
