  1. Thanks for this information Robert. This was very helpful!
  2. Friends, I start trading 1.5 to 2 hours after market open as I have a full-time job right now and that's the earliest I can start with trading. Does any of you have any best practice for how you build a watch-list some time after the market open and find the levels which are interesting? I am using a DasTrader simulator and have a Trade-ideas subscription. Currently, I just copy Andrew's watch list in Dastrader and mark the levels the way he does at the market open but I have two things on my mind when I ask my question: 1. Some of the stocks that might have been interesting at market open are probably not that interesting anymore as they did not receive any interest from the markets i.e. volume 2. Some other stocks might be interesting now which were not on the initial watch-list that Andrew created So, how do I choose stocks at this time of the day? Thanks! Pankaj
  3. April, I had gotten in touch with Dastrader support regarding the same issue which you are facing. They asked me to change my hotkey configuration so that the route I was using was either LIMIT or STOP for the hotkeys I had configured. They said that the routes that you can choose are normally dependent on your broker and because this is a simulator account it must have something to do with what the simulator software is configured to accept as valid routes. As an example the hotkey which you mentioned above would probably work if you changed the route from SMRTL to LIMIT: ROUTE=LIMIT;Share=400;Price=Ask+0.10;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send Hope this helps! /Pankaj
  4. Robert, Thanks for the response. I have added a link to the image below. Let me just write down what I think the different numbered fields on the image are and then you can either confirm that or you can correct me if I am wrong: 1. Price at which the last transaction happened 2. Current highest bid 3. Price range in which the stock normally trades. But, I don't know how many days data this is based on? 4. How much the stock has gapped since previous trading session 5. Current lowest ask 6. Volume traded since previous trading session BR Pankaj
  5. Hi, Can anyone help me with a description of all the level 1 fields in the montage window? I already know some of the fields from Class 1 and from the DAStrader user manual but cannot find any description for some other fields. Also, I get an error attaching an image with this post otherwise I would have marked on the picture the fields I would like to have a description of. BR Pankaj
  7. Hi, I am Pankaj. I live in Sweden and read Andrew's book about a month ago. I joined the chat room and got a simulator account 2 weeks ago and have been trading in the simulator ever since. I am an engineer by profession and I have been working for large and small companies for the past many years. My main goal with day trading is to become a little more geographically mobile. I love the technical analysis part of day trading and would like to get better at it. I feel that I make a lot of mistakes when I place trades and there's a big improvement potential there too. But, that is why I am quite glad that Andrew advises everyone to start trading in a simulator. Had I started trading with real money I would have lost all of it by making silly mistakes by now :). Looking forward to getting to know some of you here in the trading room and the forum. BR Pankaj
Mvh Pankaj
