  1. Hi Brendon, I agree. it sucks though because not everyone has the 25K for U.S. based broker. quick question, what did you enter as the Tax ID number for CMEG. I had losses, and would like to somehow include this on my taxes. thanks!
  2. Hi Alex, According to them they don't issued 1099 forms, instead they provide you with a statement. I had to call them directly many many times even waited on the phone for long periods of time before i got to someone. Last time i called i was so frustrated and mad, i got on the phone and told them i need my tax statement or I will have my attorney call them! i asked for a supervisor or manager number. They emailed me the statement withing minutes. Of course I was not going to have my attorney call, don't have one but it got the job done. they done have tax Id or ITIN since they are foreign. I have to research on how to file this with taxes.
  3. Getting tax statement from CME was a hassle. I called they would put me on hold, they would tell me they will call or email me information. It took two weeks of constant calling (direct calling), emailing and finally, when I said i need a contact name for my attorney to contact, they sent me the information. I closed my account months ago with them, but I am considering U.S. based broker. Not worth the frustration. not happy at all!
  4. Hi all, I have a quick question, I am trying to get 1099 or statement from CME but it seems i cant get through. I've called directly, sent emails, and called the toll free as well. Is anyone here having a similar issue? Tax season is here and I need to report. thank you :)
  5. HI Lee, But that is the thing, I did not go short. I went long and when I tried to sell half, that's the message it gave me.
  6. Good Morning Kyle hope all is well, I am testing the stop order below. I enter # of shares I want buy and the stop order triggers in montage .10 risk, I click on Sell and you can see my buy and sell order on montage. lets say the price action is going my direction and I try to sell half it gives me an error message, saying I don't have shorts available. I am just testing. I went long @ 2.62, SL 2.42 Thank You Kyle.. Price=Ask+.05;TIF=DAY+;Buy=Send;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Market;StopPrice=Ask-0.10;Share=Pos;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send:
  7. thank you Kyle, I will test this out tomorrow. Yes, I also agreed, .10 stop may be ok for some stocks while tight for others. I wont be using this hotkey on all stocks. again thank you.
  8. HI guys, I Need help!!! so I created a hotkey in montage, that automatically places a SL .10 away from my entry. The thing is that I don't think its working and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I enter the # of shares I want to buy hit the hotkey, but it prompts me to enter the SL amount. I want to DAS to do it automatically and I don't know how. Here is what I am using: Price=Ask+.05;TIF=DAY+;Buy=Send;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Market;StopPrice=AvgCost-0.10;Share=Pos;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send; Price=Bid-.05;TIF=DAY+;Sell=Send;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Market;StopPrice=AvgCost+0.10;Share=Pos;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send; thanks.
  9. My account is active and i am planning on using it this upcoming week, i will definitely keep this in mind, when shorting a stock.
  10. I would love to order a t-shirt.
  11. I live in NYC, I practically re-arranged my work schedule to be able to trade in the mornings. I work from 10:30 to 6:30, looking to trade in the first 30 to 40 minutes, after open. It not for the flexibility that my job offers me, I would not be able to do it. I considered FoREX in the beginning but I agree, its a totally different animal and thought starting in equity's would be best. None the less, good luck!
  12. Good Afternoon Everyone, My name is Ercilia (Ercilia182 in chat) , I live and work in New York City. I have been working for Columbia University in the Finance/Accounting Field for the past 15 years, since graduating College back in 2003. Like many of you here, I have always been interested in learning how to trade but never knew where to start or find someone who was willing to help me. I love my job and I what I do, but I feel that there is something more to life than just that. I like the flexibility and freedom that this career offers. The ability to be able to work from home and spend more time doing the things you enjoy. I am 39 y/o with a daughter in college and on her own. This is the perfect time to embark in this new venture. Even though I work full-time, I have a very flexible schedule and available during the mornings. My goal is to master the skills of day trading and use it to my advantage. I came across Andrew's book on Amazon, it was one of the top 10 day trading books, and I have to say I absolutely love it. I recommended the book to my friends and gave it an excellent rating. It is a simple, straight forward, easy to read guide on day trading. I will of course, read many others. I am happy to be here and looking forward to being part of this trading community. I start my first class next week, and once done with online classes will move on to simulator. Cant wait to be part of the team! Ercilia182
