    West Covina (Pasadena, Pomona)

Hello traders, I'm looking for a trading buddy or group. We can create it or join an already existing one. I'd like to review my trade book. Talk shop. Go over trades, strategy and discuss. Do some education courses together. I've been trading for almost a year. I use DAS and IBKR. I'm in West Covina. I prefer to meet in person if we're local to each other. I can get a study room for us at a library or Mt.SAC. Hope to hear from you! 🙂 SEO: Valinda, Baldwin Park, West Puente Valley, Covina, La Puente, Avocado Heights, Citrus, South San Jose Hills, Azusa, El Monte, Walnut, Duarte, Hacienda Heights, Charter Oak, Glendora, Southern California, Los Angeles
  2. Hello BBT!! After 1 year of studying and sim trading I funded my live account to start my journey. I live in Europe so i decided to open an account with IB and today I realised I do not have permissions to trade ETFs. Tried to contact them about my "retail trading" account (if somehow is possible to solve the issue) but I wanted to ask if anyone figured out any solution for this particular issue? Thank you for your help 🙂 Antonia
  3. Hello Traders! hope all of you are well. I am posting here this video of Maxout Trading. Some one knows it? Someone have had worked with it? Or any one knows about any similar algorithm? I am really interested in this algorithm. Thanks and have a Great Day!

    Trading below the VWAP

I’m just curious as to if it’s wise (or common) to place a trade when the action is below the VWAP. Say for instance you see an indecision doji and a trend reversal is starting to form.. or say a double bottom candlestick has formed and you see a reversal. Should trades such as these be taken? Thanks in advance.
  6. Hey BBT family! I am looking for someone that wants to collaborate with me in backtesting promising day trading strategies. So far, I have developed a script that fetches historical data (10+ years) for tickers that fulfill certain criteria (eg. gapper criteria), performs simulated trading according to a strategy, and displays a graphical representation of the trades alongside the return from the trades. All is very customizable as I am coding everything “from scratch”, not relying on any all-in-one platform with limited options of customization. Below is an example of a graphical representation that the script returns for each trade (very customizable - in this case it backtests a simple version of the opening range breakout strategy). If you have a promising strategy that you want backtested, and believe you can help me in improving my backtesting script (theoretically, no coding knowledge required), then I would love to get in touch! Also, I would be happy to share results with everyone here if I come across something good. Let me know if you are interested in collaborating! - Haakon
  7. Hello BBT Family, I've been trading now for a little under a year and must admit I've only been with Bear Bull Traders from the beginning. After reading Andrew's book I tried the room out, liked it, and never looked back. Now that I'm approaching a year. I thought it would be a fun topic to see what everyone else was looking for in a chat room when they came to Bear Bull Traders. Your experience can be from any chatroom, actually I'd really enjoy hearing about other rooms as well, however please no negative stuff. Just looking specifically for things that drew you in to a particular room. For example: One of the things that drew me to BBT was the structure of that Chat. I like that they have a premarket show, then Andrew trades the open for all the opening range traders, then other moderators with varied trading strengths come on throughout the day to help during specific time frames. So I knew I'd have activity and guidance all day. Hope you all enjoy the topic. And stay Green. Thor Young - Lifetime Member @ BBT
  8. -- UPDATE: 2021/02/10 If you haven't done so already, please fill out this very quick 3-4 question survey: https://forms.gle/8SwAwEW37kVHH9DY8 I'd like to get over 100 responses before filling out the plans and topic schedule going forward. ---- As part of me joining the team it was decided that I help round out the technology side of BBT education with either stand-alone webinars or a weekly (part of Carlo's Onboarding) show for members to get valuable tips and tricks that may not otherwise fit in a webinar. The proposed format for the show would be to focus on a "Topic of the Week" (as voted by members in advance) for approximately 20 minutes, a related-to-topic Q/A session, and then an open Q/A session for other items that members bring up in the class/webinar. I'd like to hear the members thoughts on some of the things you want to learn (related to trading technology). I have a lot of ideas, but want to hear from you people first. So what say you? Good idea? Terrible plan? Long GME to the moon?
  9. I just saw the results video and noticed quite a few people with some massive gains. Congrats to those traders, but I have a few observations. Some people appear to have traded risky low floats to get to the top spot with little regard for protecting their account. The results reminded me of how I traded in the sim. I had some big days as well, but that didn't necessarily carry over when I started trading live. There's no way that I would use 100% of my BP on a low float stock for the slim chance of hitting it big. How many could really stomach a -$10k swing? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the PDT rule was active for traders who dipped below $25k in the challenge (at least not the entire contest). I think there needs to be more risk involved. I suggest making the challenge as real as possible. Start with $30k ($5k cushion), and if you drop below $25k, then you're out (PDT rule) unless you have an open position that brings you back above $25k. I know what it's like to drop below $25k in a real account and I definitely wasn't up for taking huge risks when I was sitting on the edge of being locked out again. I know it's hard for the sim to capture how to feels to trade a live account, but we should strive to make the contest as accurate as possible. Your future live account will thank you for it.
  10. We has a great time (drinks, food, and fellowship) 🙌 at our 1st BBT Chicago Meetup at Miller's Pub on July 21, 2018! Now it's time to plan BBT Chicago Meetup Round 2 featuring special guest Dr. Andrew Aziz in person👏 ! Where do you want to meet (should be close to public transportation and parking)? What date and time works for you (during the fall, before winter holiday)? Anything topics you want to focus on at the next meetup? Any other issues or concerns? Please chime in my fellow Chicagoans and let's have the most productive and fun meetup yet💪! Regards, Miguel Angel Chicago, Illinois
