    Do you mind telling me what most members use so I may download it. Until I have the ability to scan for potential stocks in play I can't really trade on DAS

    The Trade Ideas scanners are shared every day in the chatroom, you don't need to download anything.

    Hey Abiel,

    I just signed up for the DAS simulator and I've been using all the resources provided by BBT in the education center; however, I am having a tough time figuring out how to set up a scanner to find stocks in play every morning. None of the videos really gives an example of someone setting one up. Do I need to subscribe to another service to get set up a scanner or does DAS supply one?

    Thanks,

    Nathaniel

    Most of us use scanners shared in BBT chatroom.  A new DAS development is Trade Signals (under tools) but I still have to take a look at it.

    Hey Everyone,

    Great information and ideas on your journals. I know this thread it a bit dated and call me old fashioned but does anyone use a paper journal? If so what format or type of layout do you use?  While I like electronic journals I find I revisit what I put on  paper more frequently.

    -Trent

    Hi Trent, not me. I use a OneNote journal. If your preference is a paper journal, just replicate some of the templates shared here in the forums.

    Are you planning to print stock charts and DAS screens for your journal in paper?

    Hey BBT,

    My name is Romell, I'm a Correctional Officer in the Bay Area, California. I started trading April 1st after finishing Stock Investing for Dummies( don't recommend this book at all). Thanks to that book my swing trading portfolio is doing pretty well though, but it always felt a little too "hands off" for me.

    It turns out a friend of a friend was a professional day trader for 3 years using Andrew's books. Him and I had a long conversation about it and it seemed like it would be a much better fit for my personality.

    So right now the plan is for me and my wife to practice in a sim account and learn as much as we can. Hopefully in a few months we'll be using real cash and this can become a decent second income...or my new career, who knows...

    Hi Romell, welcome to BBT! Make sure to stay disciplined in sim so you can be profitable in real!

    Hi Abiel, thank you for your info. i am currently in the free 14 days trial, if i sign up for the 3 months, do i get any extra training and guidelines of how to actually use the software? i tried with the videos on the educational center, but i believe that i will need extra help. Thank you

    Federico

    Hi Federico, your BBT Membership is the way to gain access to educational resources. Paying for DAS sim subscription gives you just that, at a very discounted price (you get Market Replay & Options for $100 / month in a 3 months subscription, while getting it from DAS it will cost you $150 / month + Replay + Options).

    Hello,

    I seem to be having some problems with my DAS Charts.  For certain stocks when they are up on my charts it seems that they are not updating in real time.  When I switch over to another ticker sometimes the problems dissapears and sometimes it does not.  I have not seen this problem on any other videos I have watched.  Can anyone help me with this?

    If you are using DAS Trader Free trial, market data is real-time ONLY for Nasdaq Exchange traded stocks but delayed for all other Exchanges.

    thankyou, if you are so king it would be very helpful for me, if you could copy here two basic hotkeys:

    i dbl click on the chart and then hotkey and it buys with 10 dollar risk and makes stoploss market order.

    for both direction buy and sell.

    Peter you really need to use Kyle´s spreadsheet here, because there are a lot of settings you need to use according to your account size, buying power, etc. etc. etc.

    Long:

    StopPrice=Price-0;DefShare=BP*0.249999999999999;Price=Ask-Price+0;SShare=10/Price;Share=DefShare-SShare;DefShare=DefShare+SShare;SShare=Share;Sshare=DefShare-SShare;Share=0.5*SShare;TogSShare;ROUTE=LIMIT;Price= Ask+0.03;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send;DefShare=0;TriggerOrder=RT:STOP STOPTYPE:MARKET PX:StopPrice-0.3 ACT:SELL STOPPRICE:StopPrice QTY:Pos TIF:DAY+;

    Short:

    StopPrice=Price+0;DefShare=BP*0.249999999999999;Price=Price-Bid+0;SShare=10/Price;Share=DefShare-SShare;DefShare=DefShare+SShare;SShare=Share;Sshare=DefShare-SShare;Share=0.5*SShare;TogSShare;ROUTE=LIMIT;Price=bid-0.03;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send;DefShare=0;TriggerOrder=RT:STOP STOPTYPE:MARKET PX:StopPrice+0.3 ACT:BUY STOPPRICE:StopPrice QTY:Pos TIF:DAY+;

    Is there a fake stock, or some method available to fully test out the script?

  11. Just before entering a trade, mostly I look for good volume (not dying), price breaking up / down important levels with volume, clean price action, not choppy, looking for patterns / setups.  I wait for pullbacks to moving averages / important levels to fine tune my entry, I look for a reasonable stop loss at a technical level and potential targets (for final target and partials) with good risk : reward.
