2 pointsHey Stuart, the Das risk controls are really useful for protecting your account capital if you haven't already enabled them. If you set your Total Loss equal to 2R or slightly above it then Das will cut you off from trading for the day once you hit that.

1 pointHello BBT!, I just wanted to send out this update on my journey as I will be going back to SIM after 5 weeks of live trading. I hit the shark bite rule, and must claim this victory! The reason I choose to look at this as a victory is, I still have an account that is large enough to day trade! I could look at this as a setback, but I won't! This is just another step in my growth as a day trader, and thankfully I have the simulator to re-tool my strategies. If not for the teachings of Andrew, and the incredible support from the entire BBT community, I'm sure I would have completely blown up my account. So please accept my deepest gratitude to all of you that have contributed to my learning. All that each one of you have shared through the chat room and video recaps has helped me make the wise choice to stop live trading until I can show consistency in my trading process. I will be reevaluating my risk control, journal entry method, trade setups, and trading psychology during the next few weeks before going back to a live account. I guess this post is really intended as an accountability check for myself to keep with the plan and make the necessary adjustments needed to become consistent. Thanks again BBT!, Stuart K attached is a short recap of one of my good trades, I end the recap with my favorite A. Aziz qoute, and a picture of my faithful trading partner. 1 pointHey all! As I'm sure many of you are aware, a few of us have been working on a strategy regarding some moving average crosses that tend to result in rather large move with clear and (typically) very low risk. That being said, I'm two weeks in only using this strategy, but once the month is over and I've proven it's a viable strategy that can be repeated with probable success, I will want to offer a tutorial on it. That being said, would you prefer a written tutorial or video tutorial? If it's a video, I'll need to get permission from BBT to do a video so I'll need to work out those details in advance. Maybe I'll convince William to do the video since he was the one who really put me onto the strategy in the first place and has been a great help in developing it. Plus, that saves me time and work :p. Either way, I plan to have screenshots/images that demonstrate the setup with clear levels for entries, stops, profit targets, etc, which should make it relatively easy to understand. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's suggestions and ideas. Feel free to also help us come up with a fun name so we dont have to call it a boring name. Talk soon!

1 pointFriday March 22nd, 2019 Sleep: 8 hours. Mood: good, ready to trade. Only took one trade today, a double bottom in AMD. i missed the downtrend in AMD and MU and i was looking for a reversal around 10 o'clock. i liked AMD because it looked like it might pop on that PPDH level. i waited for a new 5min high and got in a little early and i went full size. it came down to my $10 stop but i gave it a little more room because that's a normal pullback and not a new low. It ended up hitting my target and i sold half then half again when it struggled to make a new 5min high. got out all at my b/e. i think i have enough trades now to see if i should be getting all out on my final partials at new 5min lows. i'm going to look over the trades over the weekend. GOOD: waited for a new 5min high to enter the trade. sold at planned price RFI: need to sell more at my target. 75% at target then 12.5% at the next level then hold the rest. MOOD: good, should have got all out when it stalled over the VWAP. CONSISTENT: yes, i followed my plan. What i did good today: took one good trade. What i did bad today: I could have bailed on my final partial and then reversed the trade to the downside. What can i do better tomorrow: sell more at profit targets, hold lessto b/e.

1 pointThanks Brandon, It has not come without a lot of frustration on the multiple days in a row of not getting a setup. I am almost through this sample set and then I get to introduce the 5 min Orb into my live trading. Baby steps
-
1 pointMike, you seem to have a lot of patience. I've been looking for ways to change my personality to add that in my trading. I'm rock solid on not trading the first 5-minutes and low floats, but struggling to resist on not trading at all.

1 pointFirst, thanks to everyone for your support in my journey. Secondly, I do feel like I made some progress this week. I hope that maybe this could help other new traders that may go through the same thing that I did. I am feeling a little more in control of FOMO, and the way I think I did it was defaulting my platform to the SIM account and manually changing one montage back to live for 1 small trade per day. This way, I can work on how a live trade feels mentally, and fine tune a specific strategy. Then I can feed my trading hunger with paper money afterwards. So far, my losses have been decreasing in both live and sim, and I actually made a small profit today. I'm currently trading only ORB's live, and working on ABCD's and then looking for trend trades later in the session in sim. It's just an experiment at this point, so time will tell if I can keep my cool during this learning process! I can't over emphasize the importance of starting small and slowly increasing position size and risk. I heard it a million times before going live, but thought I had this stuff down pat. Nope! Thanks again! Stuart

1 pointI have the ticker max loss set too and seem to hit that right at the same time that I hit my daily max loss and it closes out my position. According to the YouTube video, as long as you have "Enable Auto Stop" checked Das will close out your positions when you hit your daily max loss.

1 pointMarch 19, 2019 - Deja Vu - Maybe yesterday was an insight into today. I just noticed I put today's date on yesterday's post. It felt like I had the exact same day as yesterday. Good 5 min Orb and engulfing patterns, but not much for the 15 min orb. I figure I just reconfirming my discipline to stick my trading plan. I am hopeful tomorrow will be different. 1 pointGreat video suggestions. Marginal adjustments to achieve great results.

1 pointYup, read the fine print right after I posted my "awesome" plan. So I either have to consider the yearly or do monthly without the promotion. Still the other question still remains about the necessity of Trade Ideas for a new trader who has access to BBT chatroom. Thanks.

1 pointMarch 15, 2019 - Nothing Today I really was focused and looking to find a good entry to take, because I wanted to go into the weekend on a high note. Although, I did not take a trade I happy to go into the weekend not violating and rules and getting ready for next week. On a side note, went to my first track meet for my daughter this morning and I have determined I am going to have to change my weekend routine a little bit to accommodate the amount of time at the track in the sun. Wow that was a long day. Sample Set Results P G S G S 6 7 8 S S P G G S G S S 18 19 20

1 pointVideo, please. Oh, and I’d like to see all the fancy zooms, transitions, and other special effects that add no value to the video other than entertainment. Finally, I’ll need an exceptional amount of enthusiasm from your narration, much like in your last recap. Lol Of course, you know I’m just bustin’ your chops. I do think a video would be most helpful and I’d be happy to assist in any way, if you’d like. I’m still trying to think of a name for the strat. I’ve got nothing so far. Helpful, I know. Lol

1 pointThe 25% discount only applies to one payment. If you choose the monthly plan, you’ll get 25% off the first month. If you choose the annual plan and pay it all at once, you’ll get 25% off the entire amount. Annual is a much better deal. You can double check with them on this, but that’s how the discount has usually been applied.
-
1 pointTrade Ideas is running a St PAtrick's day promotion at the moment 25% off and I think I'll subscribe to the Standard monthly plan which shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Having a scanner in the chatroom is great, but the eventual goal is to be independent and I think I should learn how to build/use the scanners on my own. Also, would be nice to have access to the system beyond the market hours. Thoughts?

1 pointI need to have one month of profitable trading in the books before we will publish a tutorial. That being said, risking only 50 dollars per trade and not violating rules (to the best of my ability) and only trading this setup, I just finished up week 2 with over 1,000 dollars in the green trading relatively small size (per my own comfort level). Assuming the trend can continue throughout the remainder of March, I'll likely try to get something done by early April.
-
1 pointHi William! Sorry for the slow reply...we are working on getting our wi-fi hardwired in the house, for faster internet and lower emf's. I am going back on SIM April 1st, very excited but nervous. Your offer is awesome and right now it sounds like just what I need....but I know when I start in sim I am going to be super embarrassed to share all my bad trades. If your offer is still open in April..I will send you my screen shots....it will be tough. Thank you so so much! Rebecca

1 pointYeah well this whole exorcise is humbling. It's a giant humble pie! I went back and forth a few times until I was at the point that I wasn't reacting emotionally when trading with live money. I knew that if I was going to be emotional I would not have consistently positive results so no sense in going down that path. Part of that was also managing my individual losses and down days. Hitting max loss on trades too often meant that I was either not able to read price action correctly or in denial about what I was seeing or what I should do. I also made a rule for myself to stop trading after 3 trades and at about 10:00 - 10:15. That's my window. Whatever happens happens, then it's on to the next day.
-
1 pointGood work Stuart! I did not follow those rules the first time I tried to go live and now wish I did. I'm doing fine, live again and for good now (I think - ha!), but it didn't do me any good allowing that much money go to losses. The long term view is definitely key.
-
1 pointRebecaaW when you are ready to get back in SIM, if you havent already, send me some of your trades to review with you. Tomorrow is Friday 2/29/2019. If you are currently trading again, send me all your trades from tomorrow. Either do a video review or take screen shots with your entries and exits. And trust me, however bad you THINK your charts are, my own charts from the past have been equally bad, so please dont feel embarrassed. We all share the same past with bad trades. Email me at [email protected]

1 pointThanks so much everyone for your advice....I had to take some time off, but now I am back and I am hunkering down - studying, watching..listening. Not ready to go live, not even ready to get into sim again - but I do feel like I am in a better place with awesome support. Thank you everyone!!! Rebecca

1 pointRebecca, I am right there with you this week. I been live three weeks, and your post this week was just what I need to know that I am not alone in this battle. This week I left the light bulb phase for relapse phase, and I am currently fighting my way out. Do not forget you are never alone in this battle when your apart of the BBT Community. I almost forgot that today. Thanks for your help.

1 pointIt’s all about psychology. there is a Macro Psychology angle and a Micro one when in a trade we are focused on Micro. Honor stops, take profits early and often. Don’t over trade, don’t revenge trade etc. walk away when we hit max loss. Very difficult right?, but now think of the macro angle. Being green on a day regardless how small, having more winning days than losers. Accepting managed losing days as cost of business. Even if you make 6% a month you compound and double your money in a year. Think of the Macro angle. If at the end of the week. You only made 1.5% so you are on target. How good would you feel?, on the other hand, if you screw up on micro level regularily, how does that make you feel? When executing on micro keep macro in mind and you should be fine. Focus on that feeling at the end of the week.

1 pointI think it helps to trade in the afternoon (eastern time) at first because you have time to think and see all of the different things you are looking for. The start is overwhelming until you have been doing this for a while.
-
1 pointI would like an alert to sound when the price crosses the 9 ma on my 5 min. Chart. Is it possible?
-
1 pointThanks so much for all of the advice and feedback, just what I needed. I traded today +110 small shares and I am going to keep it small - I need to build up my confidence. My biggest problem right now is that if a trade doesn't go my way and I have a big loss I get back in it to try to make up for it..I am going to work on this. I did way better on my stops today - yah!
-
1 pointIt might help to look back and really try to find something that you did well. That would take reviewing your trades and being open minded. You're beating yourself up too much. Of course its not easy to calm those demons in my head either. No one wants to feel that way either. This is lucky that I went through something similar today. I took 6 trades. All were losers. Characters in my head and emotions say things like " I can't do this" and "I'll never learn". But I go and review my trades and that really puts you in a different mindset. I think it is something like an Observer perspective. I am not in a perspective fueled by emotions. I found something I did well today. But I remember Carlos's interview with Andrew where he said one important thing he does is always try to find something good he does in every trade along with being critical. Mark Douglas says that the best athletes see mistakes very differently than I do. He says that "Mistakes are there to help us identify where we need to focus our attention to better ourselves and improve. With that mindset, how can mistakes bring with it any negative emotion." It's easy to say, hard to put into practice.

1 pointRebecca, As Abiel mentioned, we all have been through this. Step back and take a break for a day. Come back and just watch the chatroom, I've found it quite cathartic to do so. I don't know what your track record prior to the last couple of days was, but the amazing thing about this journey is that a weeks long green streak can be crushed psychologically by a couple of bad days. It doesn't mean you're not learning, it happens to everyone. Reflect on the last two days and use that to learn what not to do, it is far more valuable than having a great day and moving on.
-
1 pointThanks Abiel, I appreciate your comments. I took today off from trading and while I was journaling I realized that on Monday my husband was home and my son stopped by with my grandson so I had a lot of distractions- I am going to have to move my trading station - so thank you for reminding me to journal because I didn't get how valuable it is. rebecca
-
1 pointWe all went through that Rebecca. Take 1 or 2 days off as detox: read the books, watch the classes, watch Robert´s Rants, etc. Also, take the time to review your journal, your rules and update as needed. Setup your risk controls in DAS, read this post DAS - Dynamically Calculate Shares on %Risk or $Risk - Hot Key + Configuration, Updated 10/30, v1.2, these hotkeys are very useful to trade with a fixed risk in mind ($ or %, i prefer $). Trade well, -Abiel
-
1 pointI got hotkeys set up at -20 cents and +20 cents (Ctrl+B for short trades and Ctrl+S for long) that I enter as soon as I get into trades so the market can't screw me too much. Then, I double click on my stop order so the price and the amount of shares are filled in the boxes. Then I change the trigger price to be exactly where I want it and click the replace button. That's the quickest and safest way I found to enter a stop loss. The only thing you have to pay attention to with this setup is to remember to switch the amount of shares on your stop loss when you sell some and put your stop at break even. If not your gonna end up buying some shares to the other side. I hope this helps.
