    Hello BearBull Traders,

My name is Gradey(Gr80 in chatrooms) I am 30 an live in Soldotna AK. After 14 years in the oil and gas industry I walked away from my job and started looking for something new. Found trading and have been hooked ever since. I am still and expect to always been in the learning phase working on getting 1% better everyday. I was part of a few other trading courses and groups for awhile but just felt like it was so difficult to either get questions answered or get to know fellow traders. After listening to Mastering Trading Psychology I started to look into BBT and finally convinced myself to try it out..... so far I'm ecstatic with what all I've gotten  out of the  course just in a short time.

I'm excited to get to know the group better and see how much I improve my trading through the group and hope that I am able to help others learn and improve their trading as well. My trading has been fairly lonely so if anyone is looking for a trading/accountability buddy to bounce ideas off, talk through ideas, or do some post trade reviews with let me know(Still a newbie so any level is appreciated).

    Welcome to BBT Gradey!

Hola everyone! My name is Jaime (Hi-May) M. I am 35 and live in Phoenix AZ. I have been a full time Realtor (part time real estate investor) for 10 years now and have been interested in day trading since 2017. As of July 2021 I have decided to focus my attention on becoming a full time trader. I found the BBT community after reading one of Andrew's books and as of yesterday I am officially an Elite Member. I have been paper trading in Think or Swim all of August and am starting the DAS simulator on Monday. I am looking forward to learning as much as possible and contributing where I can!

    Welcome to BBT Jaime!

Thank you for your response. I am aware of IB's platform but would prefer one that is faster and more user-friendly.

Well, that would be DAS Trader. I think about platform cost and commissions as cost of doing business (even loses inside the risk parameters, "business man risk" as Alex Elder call them).

Considering the daily cost of DAS ($7.50) and considering DAS features that I won't find  in any other platform, like risk controls and fixed risk hotkeys, the cost is pretty fair.

Thank you so much Abiel. It seems if I want to use USB-3 I will be able to connect only up to two monitors.

Yes, that's correct. You can use these Plugable USB to VGA Video Graphics Adapter for Multiple Displays up to 1920x1080 for additional screens, I used two of these from 2018 to 2021, they worked flawlessly until I upgraded my setup.

The UD-3900 is great, for laptop users you only need one USB 3.0 cable to connect everything to your laptop, even network, mic and headphones/speakers (UD-3900 sound output is stronger than computer´s output) so if you need to leave with your laptop you just  need to unplug one cable. It is small enough for travel and provides multiple USB ports 3.0 and 2.0

My main priority is investing the money to get something dependable, I have plenty of deskspace, currently i connect my laptop to my screens so I could replace this laptop for another that has the appropriate specs. I guess Im confused on whether to go with a desktop or laptop, not much of a computers guy developed a passion for the markets and trading so Im trying to get better at the tech part, no prior experience in gaming or anything really.

Check the system requirements for DAS Trader Pro here, DAS Trader Pro is not a very resource-heavy program so you won´t need an overkill system, unless you will use it for other tasks.

  8. Take a look at the Plugable ‎UD-3900, it provides dual video outputs, wired Gigabit Ethernet, 3.5mm Headphone and Microphone jacks, two USB 3.0 ports, and four USB 2.0 ports.

DUAL HD MONITORS - Built-in HDMI and DVI outputs each supporting 1920x1200 resolution @ 60Hz refresh rate. Includes DVI to VGA adapter and DVI to HDMI adapter. HDMI port supports resolutions up to 2560x1440 @ 50Hz with a single HDMI display only

Just be mindful that 2560x1440 output only available when using a single HDMI display. If dual displays are connected, each will be limited to a maximum resolution of 1920x1200. 2560x1440 output requires a "High Speed" HDMI cable.
