    Hello All, I am Sheela and I live in Central US with my adorable family. I am working as Consulting Software Engineer. Have Master’s degree in Information Systems (Majors on Advanced Database Management Systems). I have started with swing trading just 3 months ago (mostly based on catalysts). During that time and having little flexibility with the work timing schedules, I came across with very good reviews on Andrew’s books. I bought those and read both. Those books gave a very good foundation of basic understanding on stocks observing with patterns and play with strategies. I tried 2 weeks membership to give it a try (which ends tomorrow) and here I am with LT membership. Such a great team(each moderator have unique talent) to work with and prompt support is right at the corner. -Sheela

    April 3, 2019 I am not sure what is worse, missing an entry on a great move or taking a great entry on a great move and than realizing you were in your simulator account. Today, I came face to face with the Emotional Hulk after making a blind trading error. I tried to take the Emotional Hulk head on and quickly realized it was a terrible idea, so I closed the computer, called it a day, and went on a run to get the frustration out. I realized I was in sim after my first out, and then closed the position. I tried to recover after switching to my live account but my emotions had the better me, so I did not take any other trade.

    Wednesday 4/03/2019 I had a well-being score of 3/10 this morning. Not sure why I even got out of bed. Obviously only SIM trades today. I had an extended chat with DAS support yesterday and they finally discovered why my SIM trades were randomly SIM/Live. It seems the “Global” box has its limits. I guess my layout was unusual enough that the SIM account did not transfer to my scripted keys. But it’s fixed now and all trades were SIM today. And of course since they were SIM I had a really good trading session. I took three SIM trades, two with AAPL and one with AMD. My first trade with AAPL was an early step 2min ORB. Since I finally had time for chart review last weekend I saw that my 2min ORB Step setup needs modification. But I haven’t finished my back testing on at least 3 stocks so I don’t have it as a rule yet. But I did finish my back testing on AAPL so I was trying to follow it today. So my new 2min ORB checklist (at least for AAPL) The only part of the setup that wasn’t fully satisfied is the 2nd candle was not the same size or larger than the first. But it was pretty close so I am OK with that. This is what it looked like when I took the trade: But I was stopped out at the 50MA. Then when it crossed the high of premarket I went long again and this time it worked out. Actually AAPL was still running but I had so few shares left and I really wanted to get into a fresh trade so I exited. So, even though this was in SIM, I still walked away from my platform, after my first trade, for a few minutes to reset. When I came back I saw I missed several chances with AMD on a 10min ORB. I would have liked to gone long at the 28.50 daily level or at least at the break of the 10min candle. Instead I only had the HOTD setup. I went long at HOTD but kept my stop at the 28.50 so it wasn’t that many shares. Anyway I got two partials in and then all out when it broke back through the 20MA What I did good today: Fought through a really low well-being score to trade OK. How did I challenge myself today? Traded with new 2min ORB step setup rules. What I did bad today: First trade was too early, even though it had almost all of my criteria satisfied. It was just too early to take an ORB. What can I do better tomorrow: Need to get my health better or I won’t trade live for the rest of the week. And as usual I need to be more patient with entries.

    March 29, 2019 - $BB & $AMD (Partial, Hit Profit Target) I am still adjusting my next sample set (Profit taking Plan) a little before posting the parameters here; however, on Friday I set a goal to trade a 5 min Orb and 15 min Orb live if I could find 2 stocks that met my trade criteria. I wanted to see the emotions and nervousness that I would experience adding an additional strategy. It went well and I was happy with my execution.     Thursday 4/04/2019 I had a well-being score of 4/10 this morning. So still stuck in SIM trades today. I took a lot of trades (5 trades – that’s a lot for me), taking advantage of being in SIM and all of my trades were brief. My first trade was with AAPL. I took an early 2min ORBU when price broke through 2 TLs and HOTD. The price action was not good afterwards and I made two quick partials. Then got S/O at B/E. It immediately reversed and ran, but not sure how I would have done this different except get back in as a 5min ORB. My next trade was with MU, wow that was a fizzle. It had a mini ABCD and I went long after it broke the 42.8 TL. I made it to my 1st partial than dropped quickly and S/O at B/E. My next trade was with TSLA. This was my one bad trade. I missed the break of the 200MA because I was trading with MU. So I should have waited for the break of the 5min candle. I didn’t and got stopped out. I knew this wasn’t that great of a trade when I took it so I went half shares so it only cost me -0.5R. Then I waited for TSLA to finally break the 5min candle. I went long. The price did make it to my first partial, but then fizzled and got S/O at B/E. FB was my last trade. It was holding VWAP for 10 min and having trouble breaking the 177.12 TL. When I thought it cleanly broke it I went long (got a great fill) and was able to get two partials before getting stopped out at B/E. Not a very exciting day. Nothing ran, one S/O, 3 fizzles and one small winner. I know Tradervue will probably call my “fizzles” winners. But, if this was live they would be just enough to pay for commissions. So I don’t really call them winners. On the other hand, if I was trading live my first partial would have been larger shares. I was taking smaller partials today since I was on SIM and not as nervous. What I did good today: Good stop outs. I had a lot of practice with that today. How did I challenge myself today? Traded outside of AAPL/MU/AMD. What I did bad today: First trade was too early. What can I do better tomorrow: I am really hoping I feel well enough to trade live tomorrow.

    I've been there, Fernando. I know the pain of a big loss. My first live day, I completely broke every rule imaginable. I traded the entire day (something I never did in the sim) and ended up losing $3,400! Yes, you read that correctly. To add salt to the wound, I was on track to get my account into the green, but held on to a loser and gave most of my winnings back. It sucks, but I haven't thrown in the towel because I know I can do this. Don't let it keep you down. Now, most of my days are green. As long as I keep my red days small, I'll be alright. You will too.

    Great sticking to your stop loss on MU. I am sure my nerves would have taken control and I would have bailed around 10:30am.

    Wednesday April 3rd, 2019 Sleep: 7.5 hours. Mood: good, happy to be back at the trading desk!! Not happy about missing the ORBs today. had someone come talk to me right at 9:33 so i had to look away for a couple minutes. First trade was a double top/ 5min engulfing in AMD. knew it was a risky trade but i got a good entry and i figured if it broke through 29 i could get out with only an $8 loss. actually popped quicker than i expected and got stopped out for $12. i'm happy with the trade, the only things i would change are a limit order at $29.01 and i should have waited for a red candle, i went short on some big volume towards the HOTD, which is a sign it was going to punch through. i saw it and chose to ignore it. GOOD: small risk, accepted the loss RFI: i should not have ignored the volume cue on new 1min highs. I made the same mistake last week in NVDA of not putting in a limit order to get me out on a big pop through the HOTD. MOOD: fine, i knew it was a risky trade. CONSISTENT: yes, i got out a little past my 1R but just because it happened so fast. Last trade of the day was in MU. it made a hammer below the WVAP then punched through on the next 5 minutes. i got in long right at the moving averages on the 5min chart. it was having trouble breaking through $44.50 but i held on to the trade, risking $44.21 to $44.73. i put in a range order because i had to walk away from my desk and when i got back and saw it was stuck at around $44.70 i just got all out at 1.9R. GOOD: got out at almost 2R, stuck with the trade. RFI: don't take V reversals. MOOD: good, made a good profit on this trade even though it didn't end up hitting my profit target. CONSISTENT: yes. What i did good today: only took good trades. What i did bad today: probably should not have shorted AMD with it being so strong. What can i do better tomorrow: always pay attention to volume.

    April 2, 2019 - $JAMD (Sim) I missed an entry on $AMD as I hesitate just a little bit because I did not want to trade before the 5 minute mark. I than looked for a 15 min Orb, but did not find anything. I decided to sim trade a VWAP reversal on $AMD. I got before my stop as it took to long to develop, but I was ready to get back in if it broke my entry point again, which it did. Made it all the way to VWAP and I wanted to see if it could run some more as their seemed to be a lot of buyers. I got out just above break-even when the stock engulfed the previous 5 minute candle.     April 1, 2019 - $JD x 2 (Stopped Out, Partial) I am amazed how much more comfortable I getting stopped out. Today, I got stopped out and started looking for another trade, saw another opportunity on $JD and got a partial out of it. I than went looking for 1 15 min Orb but did not see one that my edge.     Live trading summary of the month of March. I have not gone hulk in two months!! I have not hit my daily max loss in 2 months!! I also never looked at my unrealized gain for the whole month of March. In February I stuck to a 1 trade/day rule, which was only broken once on a revenge trade. In March I allowed a second trade a day if the first trade was a winning trade. I can’t trust my emotions yet after a loss. I did, inadvertently, break the 1 + 1 trade a day rule once in March, but I thought I was taking a SIM trade. Once I entered the trade and realized it was real I stuck with it to its conclusion. Since my equity was positive and did not go hulk in March I am increasing my risk per trade from $30 to $36. In March I read Mastering Trading Stress by Ari Kiev Stats for February/March: My plan for February through April was to complete one goal: not to go hulk. Hopefully I improved my trading skills as well, but that was not my primary goal. After two months not hitting daily max loss, I am going to try and extend the goal for April: to be able to take an emotionally controlled trade after a loss. I am not there yet. But my goal is to be there by end of April. Analyzing data from Feb/March, I have taken 41 2min ORBs with a 63% success rate. This is marginal. It is not bad enough to give up on it, but obviously needs more work. The win$/Loss$ ratio is high enough to make it profitable so there is hope. But either the ratio or winning% needs to improve. The opening scalp and 5min ORB does not have enough data, the last two months, to determine accuracy. Reviewing the data also showed me something interesting. AAPL and MU have been big money makers for me, but AMD has not. I knew my trading with AMD has been more difficult, but I was surprised that I am at a net loss, over the last two months, trading AMD. I need to shy away from trading AMD especially on the 2min ORBs.
