No disrespect to Douglas (R.I.P.), but that whole energy into beliefs/attitudes was pseudoscience lol. Dr. Brett Steenbarger's book is a practical self-help guide on how to develop good habits and break bad ones. It can be used to help instill the "functioning in probabilities" mindset. Going back to what Kurt said: bring your share size down to a level which you are comfortable with the loss. For some people that may be 1 share. Conduct Douglas' 20 trade exercise as many times as required to convince yourself that the math checks out. When you witness the probabilities working in your favor with 1 share, do it with 10. Then 20, then 50, 100, etc. You have to experience the powerful results for yourself in order to truly believe and function in probabilities. I've had 10 trade win streaks. 12 trade losing streaks. None of this matters when we're in it for the long run. Last week I was green with less than 50% accuracy. Why? Because probabilities and risk management! If I offered to play a game where you guess the outcome of a coin toss. Each time you're right, you get $2. Each time you're wrong, you pay me $1. Would you get upset each time you're wrong? No! You would tell me to hurry the heck up and flip the damn coin. Take your setups and patterns with this mindset. Avoid everything else that doesn't meet your trade criteria. Let the beauty of mathematics play themselves out.

Wait for the close of 5 minute candles. Does it show a Trend in either direction? I only trade when the price is past all the Ma's on the 1 5 and 15 minute charts. That is when prices move. William H has a video on Moving Averages that was a huge help to me. That is your sign of potential trade. But now you have to find the entry. You have to be willing to walk away from the trade. What changed everything for me was when I started to keep this is mind "don't look at a trade I am not willing to walk away from". Similar to Don't make a deal your not willing to walk away from. I am asking the trade to show me more. I set a deal with the stock and say I'm not set on you yet. Here's what I have to see to get me to bite. And I set a entry target for myself. That is obviously one with outstanding risk to reward. If the price retraces to that point, then I enter, If It does not, and the price continues trending, the trade wasn't good enough anyways. It doesn't deserve my emotional energy. It is an emotional field of entitlement and "pickyness", maybe that is the word, that has been so powerful to my entry plan. It is the difference between being reactive and being proactive. As if am a prey animal with my eyes wide open. I am taking in all this that is happening to me, saying " this is the last time I will be able to get into the trade,I have to get in now!". It is a sense of desperation! But of course, this is terrible, because my entry is in between Support, maybe the 9 or 20 ema, and resistance, maybe a daily level. I want my entries close to the supports and resistances. I mean within 10 cents on a stock like amd. When I keep my Target Entry plan, I think I psychologically change. I am not a "prey animal" or adolescent with my eyes wide open. I become aiming and judgmental. Thinking " this price is not good enough. Only this is that I have determined is a worthy entry for me. I am aiming and attacking focused on entry. It is huge. Maybe it takes me to a feeling of power and control that is difficult to have in trading because again, there is no certainty. So control is a bad word. Maybe what I am after is the sense that I decide my own deal! We have to power to decide our own entry. But that would mean passing on some trades in the processes. Now you are making a deal with the stock. And this is my deal for you Mr. AMD. And I are firm. Sometimes the stock gives in. Sometimes it doesn't This brings me a sense of hard ball attitude, knowing I am fine being out of this trade, maybe much better off being out of it. I am in the drivers seat, So you, AMD!, will have to show me more before you get your hands of me. And all this talk sounds arrogant maybe that fierce and judgement attitude is important. I only trade when the price is past all the Ma's on the 1 5 and 15 minute charts. That is when prices move. William H has a video on Moving Averages that was a huge help to me.

I notice a few things. 1. As Bibonow mentioned, some of your entries are at the end of moves. Stocks move in waves, and after it makes a move, it has to pullback. Sure sometimes it just keeps running, but 80% of the time, it will do a pullback before the next move. Late entries are giving you a small chance that the stock will keep going in your direction, and a big chance that it will pull back significantly, leaving you with a big loss. I personally ALWAYS wait for significant pullbacks, and get in there. It's a rule for me, for this reason. 2. Your stop losses are a bit too far, and causing your losses to be bigger than they have to. Here as well, the entry is key. When you wait for a pullback, and get in there, you can get away with a much smaller stop loss. Take CORT for example. If you waited and got in at 18.80, it's much harder for you to get stopped out, and you make more money on the next down. Make the waves work in your favor. If you're going short, get in at the top of the pullback. If you're going long, get in at the bottom of the pullback. Yes it looks like the worst time to get in, and that is exactly why it's so hard to trade. You have to trade for what the stock is going to do next, not what it's doing now. It's the opposite of stock chasing. And it gives you big reward, and small losses.
