Hi everyone!

So I am a huge fan of trend trades, it seems to fit my strategy and I feel more in control. So I took this opportunity to create something that can help us late-traders and some of us that do not feel comfortable trading during the high volume mornings.

So with a lot of tinkering, reading on the trade ideas website and research I finally came up with a scanner that I like (although i´m sure you guys can help me improve it) i´ve been testing it for a couple of days and I like the results.

So below are a couple of screenshots of the scanner alerting on the first period where it confirms that basically both MA´s are moving in the same direction. I have also added a few conditionals to the scanner where it must have increased volume, a price range of above 15 USD, a float of at least 150 million, volume today of at least 1 million shares among others. I believe that with these parameters we can get something that fits the trading room and help us late morning traders.

Please feel free to comment, or make any suggestions to improve the scanner! And maybe, we can include it during the trading sessions.

This is a scanner I've been working with for a while. It is setup to alert to Level 2 activity such as new high or low bid, new high or low ask, or high number of bids or asks in the level 2 information for a stock. There have been times when it has alerted me to a stock that was just about to reverse, which is what I was looking for when I set this up.

I've been working with support at TI, for advise on how I should tweak it, and any input any member may have is of course welcome, and encouraged!

😈 The Rising Devil Scanner 😈

Overview

This strategy has become quite popular in the channel, and every morning I see many people asking if a certain stock is a rising devil. So I decided to create a scanner that tries to capture potential rising devils before they happen.

It's narrower focus and stricter filtration of stocks that are running down right before the open, versus some of the ones we've been calling Rising Devils. But being more focused can lead to better returns if the strategy is a profitable one.  That being said, as we gather more data about stocks that were "missed", we can look at why, find ways to improve and capture them as well.

Testing

I back tested it for 65 days with great success (see photos below) and for more tangible data I tested it against some of our fearless leaders' YouTube recaps!
It successfully created an alert and back-traded successfully for these Rising Devil plays:

@Andrew Aziz's $YNDX trade on Oct 11th

@Thor's $ETFC trade on Oct 1st

Meir's $ORCL trade on Sept 12th

@Brian Pez's $CRWD trade on Sept 6th

Testing this was an interesting conundrum because the Alert happens completely in the pre-market and you can't back test pre-market data. Trade Ideas' filters are only "point in time" as well; so you can't ask for it to show stocks that trend down in the pre-market AND then bounce back to the VWAP - and then do a back test on that.

I had to create another seperate Alert that tracks stocks bouncing into the VWAP. Then test that alert using symbols that only The Rising Devil Scanner discovered over the last 65 days.

Results

Overall

I hope the scanner helps new traders! And for the more experienced ones, brings to light some stocks we didn't have an eye on. Brian has definitely identified a great strategy that works well - and even though, based on my journal, I'm in the green using this strategy, it's interesting to see the data that proves this strategy is sound.

Learning what Trade Ideas can do is eye opening for the opportunities it holds - there is SO much you can do with it; it's mind boggling 🤯.  I can't wait to improve this scanner as time goes by and come up with new ones for the community!

So it looks like when I re-uploaded the corrupted link that I had originally uploaded, I inadvertently uploaded my scan with no filters applied. Also, I have been working with the filters, and have divided the scan in to 2 alert windows, instead of one. I was getting too many alerts, but there is a fine line when filtering, and nothing is perfect.

I broke out High Bids and Asks to its own alert window:

https://www.trade-ideas.com/Cloud.html?code=74179d8033c0388c5fc13e222635e618 <<<<<<Use the one below, or edit this one as recommended.

******EDIT 11 FEB 2020********

Since we have been using the scanner in the community a bit, we have decided that cutting the volume today setting helps filter out the noise. I will share the new configuration here, but really all you need to do is add one zero the the "volume today" setting under window specific filters. Feel free to reply with any questions, comments or configuration changes you have tried.

https://www.trade-ideas.com/Cloud.html?code=05058681ca3a06de34c64e2281994cd1

******END OF EDIT**********

Large ask size now has its own alert window:

https://www.trade-ideas.com/Cloud.html?code=ca84e27ab72be9fccb5c0111d633bc12

Support from Trade Ideas has been really great, but I have come to realize that they are not big believers in using level 2 information to find trade candidates. I can tell you that I have entered successful trades using these alerts, but again, nothing is perfect.

I believe in using level 2, and I welcome any and all input if anyone has tweaked any settings to make these alerts more useful to them.

Thanks!

Yeah, I wasn't keen to say anything, because the idea is a good one! But @Andrew Aziz knows all about TradeIdea's hatred of all things Level2 😋 At the last conference the moderator point blank told Andrew "Level 2 is irrelevant in 2019".

Hi,

this is a scanner (top-list) that I like to share with community for swing trading (or weekly watchlist). It’s based on trade ideas Composite Rating. ScoRe measures stock's strength along technical, fundamental in real-time. It includes important fundamental metrics such as EPS, revenue growth, cash to debt ratio.

A stock can have a ScoRe of 30 to 100, with 100 being the best score. it’s pretty simple setting of composite rating  = >90 and short float = >10%. It is combined with short float greater than 10%, and it’s filtered with highest short float percentage.  The way I use it, I go over the list at the end of the day or week, and check daily formation (like bullflag or consolidation) for potential breakout long position. considering ScoRe > 80 & short float greater than 13% and less than 25-30%.

I created a scanner to identify stocks to watch when the price crosses resistance, support, daily high or daily low, also when there is a big ask/bid, to help me find stocks to watch for potential entries.

https://www.trade-ideas.com/Cloud.html?code=a452bcd6f3e32d4a53c61cd69ee6c1db

I filtered for stock price (between $10 and $200), relative volume (>= 2), volume today (>= 500k), ATR (>= 0.2), consecutive 15min candles and float (>= 50M), but these can be modified by users to their own trading style/taste.  Having consecutive candles filter helps identify stocks that are trending better.

For Nov 27, I traded ANF based on the scanner.

All other potential good stocks identified to watch for potential entries were:
