Trading single shares instead of sim/paper trading

Recommended Posts

why not trade 1 share at a time when starting out and gradually increase share size so you never have to make the jump from sim to real? Seems like a decent way of being able to overcome the transition from paper trading to real trading.

1. because 1 share of google costs $2700 and 1 share of Vtvt costs $1,5 so you can have problem with buying power

2. because you would have to change your hotkeys all the time

3. because the number of shares does not determine your risk

4. because there are minimal commissions applied even if you trade 1 share

5. because it will teach tou bad habbits probably

is that enough? 🙂

The better thing to do after u leave SIM is to risk $7.00 max in your live acct until u can prove to urself that u are profitable for a week. Each week u are profitable increase ur risk by $3.00.

U may not cover ur costs initially, but u will not deplete ur account so fast.  It will give u time to deal with ALL the issues/pains of a new trader while protecting ur capital.
