Hey justin! So im trying to get a hotkey (for futures actually) that buys X amount of shares (contracts) and then use a limit /range order on the average. Im using the following:
To buy long 2 contracts:
ROUTE=SMRTL;Share=2;Price=Ask+0.25;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send
And the long range order for 2R is:
CXL ALLSYMB; Route=Limit;Share=Pos;Price=AvgCost-StopPrice;Price=Price*2;Price=Price+AvgCost;Price=Round2;Route=Stop;StopType=Range;LowPrice=StopPrice;HighPrice=Price;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send;ROUTE=LIMIT
So my perfect setup would be hotkey to buy 2 contracts or X amount and then another hotkey define 2R / 3R etc....with a stoploss as I would do normally with stocks. Any ideas?

Hi Justin,
I saw some green and red arrows pointing up and down in some of the moderator chart. I am wondering what that is and how to show them in DAS? Is it some type of indicators?

Hey @letfox
They are signifying when moving averages cross each other. Sometimes that signifies a reversal in direction.
If you right click on your chart > Study Config these are the settings I've set:

Hi Justin, hope you are well and nice to meet you! I am looking for an expert recommendation, hopefully you can help me!
I am working on ORB 1-min and ORB 5-min but I have some questions about a good practice for scaling out (partials). I have been looking at Andrew's trades, and his approach is very intuitive, first he takes his first partial 20-30 cents above the entry and then takes small partials of 10-15 cents. (i dont know what the scaling out percentage is)
My big question is if during momentum trading with big sizes, we will focus on gain some cents instead of target prices. for me is clear that we have to be careful about resistance or support levels, but I am not really sure if I should pay more attention in R instead of target prices. (for instance, if I get 2R, then I leave the trade).
Sorry for my broken english man, I hope to be clear!
Could you help me with your experience how can I manage it
Thanks!

Kept hearing about a 40% discount on lifetime membership, but can't find the code? Can you assist?

Hello Robert,
I found that you look familiar with a Canadian account and Interactive Broker.
I have a big problem with IB and intraday loan fee. I trade in the US with my IB account in Canada. I also use DAS as a platform.
Here is my problem: I was getting use to have some variations sometime with the exchange with my Canadian $ account: -50$ or -100$, -200$. Sometime it give me +50$ or +100$ but this is more rarely.
I trade the US stock but at the end of day, with my daily report, IB close the day and make the calculation for the exchange CAD versus USD.
- In January, I lost 585$ US just with the exchange
- In February, I lost 420$ US again with the exchange.
- And on Monday this week, March 9 2020, I lost 750$ US with the exchange USD/CAD!!!
- I can’t believe that a US citizen would make a nice trading day of 305$ US with 22$ commission and end up loosing 750$ with the exchange, 3 trades on $AAPL, $AMD and $NVDA
I call IB last week to change my Canadian account in US$. They told me that it goes with the country of residence. The guy was not really helpful.
With one of your post, I understand more how it work when I buy in USD with my CAD: https://ibkr.info/node/722
I CAN’T CONTINUE TO TRADE WITH THIS SETUP… I NEVER KNOW WHAT WOULD BE THE RESULT OF MY TRADING AND LOOSING TO MUCH MONEY WITH CAD/USD
Today, since all line where busy at IB, I tried the chat. The guys told there was noting to do even if I challenge him that it's impossible that a America with a US account would pay 750$ for making 305$.
With this setup, I have no choice but to change Interactive Broker for another broker that would accept to open a account with USD.
Any advice and recommendation would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Stéphan
