I sure hope you are right. I think you probably are.

Hey everyone! I thought there might be some traders out there that'd enjoy hearing how someone else's learning process is going. This video is just a summary of how my approach towards trading the market has changed over time.

Holy sh*t, Christopher, I love this f'ing post so much and for so many reasons, so thank you for sharing. Being a newer day trader (going into my third month of building my knowledge/process/etc...), this was a great reminder to remain my authentic self, and not try to trade a strategy that doesn't fit my personality. One of the many things that drew me to day trading is the ability to be creative and be successful in many different ways, which you just highlighted. Thanks again! Looking forward to future posts. -Max M

Good evening Jeremy, I am not super nervous about this passing because big money really wouldn't like it. I really feel like the power is in the hands of the lobbyists of the High Frequency Trading firms. Of course everything could go sideways and blow up in our faces. If that did occur I feel it would be a serious issue towards day trading. Bailey Nevener

Fixed risk hot keys FTW! Does everything you need, sets a stop, manages risk.

Hi there, As far as I understand from your post, you may have misunderstood some things about risk management. And that's totally fine, considering that when you start doing this there's a thousand new bits of information coming at you every day. Long story short, the theory is not that you shouldn't SPEND more than 2% per trade, but rather that you shouldn't RISK more than 2% per trade. Let's take an actual example: You have 25K so 2% of that is $500 risk. Say you want to long a stock at a price of $10 and you put your stop loss at 9.50$. This means that you risk $0.50 per share, and given that your max loss per trade is $500 (2% of your account), then the calculation you have to make to decide how many shares you can buy is 500/0.50=1000 shares. Now, one thing I'd add is that, in my humble opinion, risking 2% of your account per trade is way too much, particularly when you're just starting out. Think about it, merely 10 losing trades and your account is already 20% down. I would consider the option of only risking a fraction of 1% because risking too much per trade can throw your psychology off balance in the middle of a trade and make you focus more on potential losses that you aren't comfortable with rather than the proper trade management that you need to produce consistent results. Hope this helps 🙂 Vlad

Not quite true Peter. TOS "live" is not even close to the responsiveness of DAS charts. This hotkey is exactly what you're looking for. You can place the open order above the HOD break (or below the LOD break), and it'll only enter if it hits.

This is a very common question, so hopefully this post can be a good reference. There is a new hotkey command called DuplicateWindow which lets you 'clone' an existing Montage, Time/Sales, or Chart window. All settings like hotkey buttons, colors, fonts, etc. will be copied over. How to: -Go to menu Setup > Hot key -Add New Item -Enter a Name and Hot Key. In the Script Field, enter DuplicateWindow -Press Commit Now you can simply select the window you wish to duplicate, then press the hotkey (CTRL+D in the above example). And voila, attack of the clones!

I LOVE my streamdeck. I've got mine configured with multiple screens for short and long positions in different sizes. I have the controls nested and color coded so I don't mistakenly short when I mean to go long, or to large when I mean to go small size. You can see pictures in the "show us your setup" thread. Here is my icon set if you want to use it.
