Just figured I'd post the solution here for anyone from the future searching for answers. Somehow the Buying Power got changed to a really low value (you can set this manually by right-clicking a simulator account and changing the values under the "Reset BP/Equity" menu option). Once Brent set it back to normal, it started working again.

Clinched the #1 spot today. BEST 422 also did well at #3 today. I still have crashing issues, but able to work around it when I need to in a pinch using the phone app (also buggy). Turning off the risk controls and being disciplined has kept me on track.

LOL xanax and wine. Seriously though, you've got the rough time frame for trading - "family time frame." I have no answers for you, but I know your pain. Although I'm US/east coast and my son's in school now, so the timing works well for me, I thought I could trade last summer during summer break with multiple kids around all day. Big mistake. I was red day after day after day, and I was in really bad moods, until I finally made myself stop until school started again. You just can not trade with kids around - it's impossible! All I can tell you is something I had to tell myself because man I love being a mom and I don't want to miss anything - trading will always be there, the kids grow up fast. There WILL be a time in your life when you'll be able to trade more freely. The kids will be older and more independent and you'll have that time. I KNOW it's hard to not trade because we want to so bad. Even if it's just 1 day a week right now, maybe you can work with your wife that that's your trading time and you're all alone. Don't try to do both at the same time - you end up messing up trading and being pissed at the kids ;0)

@CliffG you are in a very tough situation. I got a taste of this when home schooling my daughter for this school year that just ended. Most days I had to rush out of trades early in the morning to get her setup for Zoom meetings or help her with home work assignments. A few times I kept positions open and try managing them from my phone but that was not ideal. So it did affect my trading a bit, but I accepted this is the way is going to be until school finishes. In your case is more of a permanent situation, i agree with Sawtooth message above. There has to be a way to for you to carve out 1:30 to 2 solid hours of trading. Also Bose noise cancellation headphones will do magic! lol

Maybe talk with your wife and make a deal where she takes care of everything while you work on trading? I know that's not ideal on her as it burdens here with additional workload, but what I tell me wife is the reason that I do trading is because I want to spend more time at home with her and I want her to be able to quit her job if she no longer wants to work, so it's a win/win for both of us. And those two statements are 100% true - imagine the difference in the quality of life for your family if you are making $3000-$5000 a day trading. Or think about it like this - if you were making that money already, then you would take steps to make sure that you are not distracted. It's just hard for you to justify taking those anti-disctraction steps now because you aren't making the money, however it's necessary if you expect to make it in the future.

I recently failed with my LIVE account, the biggest reason was not enough time in SIM. I don't just mean days trading in SIM, but how I traded in SIM. I wish I would have journaled and tracked performance just like a live account. It would have shown me that I did not have an edge. I went back to SIM for the month of June and treated it exactly like a live account. I only traded the setups I planned on trading live, I tracked my setups in TraderVue. I tracked my "R" per trade and per day. I only had 3 red days in June after changing my process. So I went back live in July, and only have one red day this month. My advice would be to watch Peter's latest success webinar. Some more advice, define your setups with a checklist of criteria, then start trading and tracking your progress. Once you find 2 or 3 setups you see well, and have good success with, switch to just trading those setups for a couple weeks. Once you prove to yourself in SIM that you actually do have an edge that works consistently, then make a plan to go live. I squandered over $4,000 because I "thought" I had an edge, but in reality, I was trading way too many strategies, and even trading things that just "looked" good. Another thing I wish I had done before trading live was to set up an automatic hard daily stop loss. I didn't have one the first few days, then I set it to $100, then I moved it down to $60....before I went back live in July, I moved it down to $30. I am only trading $10 risk per trade right now. So that gives me enough room to be wrong 3 times. This is what has worked for me, I know all traders are different, but be confident in your edge, and be able to back that up with data you keep in sim. Then when you do go live, if something isn't working, you can go back and look at your successful SIM trades and try to figure out what you are doing different. You are in a great community. Also watch the mastermind classes in the psychology center. They were also very helpful to me.

Thor shared his hotkey file in the drive today. Here's the Free Roll hotkey scripts courtesy of Thor Thor's HotKey Scripts <These are configured for use with executions through DAS and Interactive Brokers> Please test all scripts in SIM before implementing to ensure there are no C&P errors. @ragy @Yann I believe Kyle and Thor are still testing this internally. @DC The idea behind the free roll key is that when Thor is very much in the money and the price is very far from his entry or stop price, if the stock pulls back to a significant level, he'll use some of his remaining unrealized gains to add into his position.
