Hi Everyone, For those who don't know, every Friday @Aiman Almansoori posts weekly Simulator training ideas! They are based on trending stocks of the day and stocks that our moderators focused on. He chooses two per day, each have multiple strategies to look for, the time to focus on them, a written analysis, and what the catalyst was for the day. It also includes a watch list for all of our moderators from the past week! Check it out here!

You can go live and start very small, ONLY IF YOU HAVE AN EDGE on your trading, only if you already master a strategy or two with good expectancy. If you go live small without an edge, proven strategies and discipline, you´ll start losing small, every day, building up frustration, anxiety, doubts about your skills and future as a trader, risking yourself to a hulk day. You will blame your "psychology", your "mindset", but I have news for you about "psychology": Said by a Trading Psychologist. So yes, trading small without an edge won't end giving you an edge. Trading without an edge, thinking you have one, will cause serious damages to your self esteem and mindset, even you could become traumatized, and that will be very hard to overcome. There is a lot of self pressure and self deception to go live before one is ready, avoid that. Imagine if an airplane trainee ask to fly a 777 full of people because "sim is like a video game". If you don't have the edge, the discipline and the patience in sim, you won't have that either trading your hard earned money.

Hi Sam, I can tell you what I pay. There is a BBT DAS promo where you get all you need for $150/month. $165 if you want the replay feature. https://www.learningdaytrading.com/partnership/bearbull I am on the tiered plan which depending on the volume of shares you trade is generally cheaper than the fixed at 1/2 a penny a share...and definitely cheaper if you trade over 200k shares a month, but could be challenging for new traders keeping it small. It was for me to get that volume... I use the chatroom scanners and their Bezinga alert service if I am trading later in the day, usually I am not but sometimes. So scanners and alert service are free. I am a Lifetime member as that pays for itself within I think a years' time if you were to get your own TI scanners. So a no brainer there. I would only be a month to month member if I thought I could not do it. I don't have that thought. IBKR Pro is what you want, not LITE for day trading. LITE is more for swing trading. I don't think LITE works with DAS? Total fees = Lifetime charge + $150 DAS/month + your commission structure (a quasi charge) I know I was concerned with charges when I first started trading and many will tell you that is the last thing they think about after they start trading live. It's more about keeping it green because that when you are really tested. Hopefully this helps 🙂

One other thing to note is that when you do hit the second hotkey, your order will look like a range order (see picture below). This is actually visually showing your "fill up to" range (Thanks for explaining this Kyle!) This is a little embarrassing, but I think I had this hotkey working quite awhile ago, I just didn't understand what I was seeing! 🤪 I thought it was some kind of weird range order, that the script wasn't working, and so I always cancelled it before triggering and went back to the drawing board! And just going to tag some people who I know were interested in this in another thread: @Travis Weirich @peterB @JenniferL @WindssKat @Ryan Wilson

Hi everyone! My name is Cindy. I'm 25 years old and from San Francisco. I'm new to trading as I just started learning in April. I'm currently working as a full-time pharmacist. I realized that my student debt would take way too long to pay off for the life I want to live. I found out about trading and felt that it would be a good path to head down with the eventual goal of working less hours and having more freedom in life. I was learning from a different community but didn't like the vibe and didn't feel like the members were very supportive of each other. I was also searching for more information to learn when I found Andrew's book and BBT. I decided to try BBT's 1 week trial last week and was blown away by the professionalism and level of support members had for each other in this group. I felt like I learned so much more in 1 week with through this platform than I did in the entire month of April so I HAD to join. I'm so excited to keep learning and growing with everyone! 😁 Cindy

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley and I’m from NJ. I’m pretty new to day trading but am so glad I found the BBT community. During the day I work from 9-5 however, after reading both of Andrews books, trading is definitely something I’m interested in pursuing! I’ve learned so much in a short amount of time here and am looking forward to learning more and getting to know everyone! 🙂

Nice to hear other people are trading futures. I really don't understand why anyone would day trade stocks anymore. Futures have been the professional trading vehicle for years and only getting bigger. I have been trading them since 2012 and it was not an easy road to become consistent (took me over 5 years). I trade the Nasdaq, Russell 2k and sometimes the ES when it gets really active. In the current environment, probably the best advantage to futures is that I can hit the bid all day with any size I want. So no short selling restrictions is huge when the markets get volatile. There are great opportunities all day as well, unlike stocks where you really have to rely on the open to make decent trades. One thing to note on commissions, they are not really the issue in futures. It is the exchange and clearing fees that get you. So the best and lowest cost broker is AMP. NT is OK as well, I'm just not a fan of their platform they make you use. AMP has lots of great platforms to choose from and a web trader (NT doesn't have that or any mobile option). In futures, experience is everything. Learn to read order flow and price action. Eventually you won't even need a chart. Just watch the DOM. Jason

Hey @Rob C, That's great to hear! I switched from live trading stocks to live futures (MES, MNQ, and MGC) in the last couple of weeks. Have been profitable. I've been looking at NinjaTrader, but have a lot invested in TradeStation and ThinkOrSwim (I mainly execute trades on TradeStation), so don't want to add learning a new platform just yet. Maybe we can chat with @Andrew Aziz about a futures focus group within BBT. Buck

Hello all, I'm David (Smith) so one of the three or four 'David S' in chat. I live in southwestern Connecticut. After a career of 30 years in IT, including consulting and development work, I had just grown weary of dealing with clients on a daily basis. I too have a finance degree as others have mentioned here, but after that fateful first job out of college, I was well down the IT path. Have always had an interest in the markets, and based on proximity to where I live have many friends that are full-time Wall Street types. Started reading and learning about day trading in the Fall of 2016 and began trading exactly a year ago today, so Jan 10th 2017. Would love to say I was a huge success, but had a couple of day trades that I turned into "investments" because I couldn't let go of the loss the day I entered the trade. Only to liquidate months later with much greater losses. By September, outside of my two big mistakes, I was more or less breakeven from a gain loss perspective but my p&l was bad because of commissions. Needed to change up things and looked around for some additional reading material and found Andrew's book. Really like how unassuming and down to earth his approach is and accessible to new traders. Signed up for chat, classes and sim where I traded Oct-Nov-Dec. Back live now in January and working towards consistency. My biggest enemy right now is overtrading, and that is my primary objective for the next few months, take only well thought out trades and don't jump into anything. Really like the chat community and look forward to hearing more about your successes and challenges as we all build our trading competency. Cheers.
