How to set a hotkey to load a specific chart settings .cst file from a specific folder?

Hello,

I've been looking for this hotkey in DAS and in the forum but I didn't find anything.

I'm using 2 different 1 minute "chart settings" (or chart layout) for trading. One with a green background color for premarket and one with a red background color for premarket. That allow me to quickly know which side to trade my plan (long or short).

There is a script that allow do load settings from DAS default folder. But my chart settings files are in a different folder on my OneDrive. 

Does anyone knows if it is possible to configure a hotkey that will directly load a specific .cst file from a specific folder ?

Tell me via voice the big pic as to why u want to do this and maybe able to skin the cat from a different perspective or write a AHK script ....... maybe.

But can u explain why the .cst file is not in DAS default folder ?

Can write a AHK script to copy it into default folder and load it from default folder and is executed on hotkey/button click  ?

Or if OneDrive is just for backup location can use something like SyncToy to sync the copies of the .cst files  across the system ?

Just trying to understand the bigger pic so I can conceptulize a simple comprehensive solution.

Normally the .cst file is in DAS default folder so it confuses me.

@Erwann Look in the file I uploaded in discord I have about 4 samples for different CST files. Have been using them since last year.

Still not sure how the OneDrive factors into the picture ? Thats the curve ball.

Download a free simple program called "SyncToy" from Microsoft, I trust the MS download center site.....simple and easy to use

My layout files are in onedrive to backup every change I do without taking the risk to lose them when I update DAS.

SyncToy looks like a simple solution, I will look at it to find out how is works 😉.

Ok I understand the big pic now.  Many ways to skin this cat.   U really wanted to backup CST files and u saw OneDrive as a solution bcoz u lost stuff last time u updated.

My suggestions / options are as follows for an systematic process :

1.  Keep DAS files in DAS default folders including CST files.  It is easier to work with them.

2. DAS has a in-built backup tool in the toolbar menu that zips critical config settings including CST and saves to a ZIP file on desktop with current date as part of name.  OneDrive I believe backups the Windows Desktop by default.   If not use SyncToy to copy zip file to the local OneDrive folder which will auto sync to the cloud OneDrive folder.

AND/OR

3. Before u update DAS copy current DAS folder to new folder with same name but append a date, example "....._20211017",   I save my DAS like this and am able to run older versions of DAS from these folders.  DAS is very very small and does not use much space.  I have abt 11 copies of DAS like this right now. 

With these options u will have a version history which u can pick anyone to revert to if needs require.
