Weekly Webinar: Trading Technology - Members feedback requested - Updated: 2021.02.10

-- UPDATE: 2021/02/10

If you haven't done so already, please fill out this very quick 3-4 question survey: https://forms.gle/8SwAwEW37kVHH9DY8

I'd like to get over 100 responses before filling out the plans and topic schedule going forward.

----

As part of me joining the team it was decided that I help round out the technology side of BBT education with either stand-alone webinars or a weekly (part of Carlo's Onboarding) show for members to get valuable tips and tricks that may not otherwise fit in a webinar.

The proposed format for the show would be to focus on a "Topic of the Week" (as voted by members in advance) for approximately 20 minutes, a related-to-topic Q/A session, and then an open Q/A session for other items that members bring up in the class/webinar.

I'd like to hear the members thoughts on some of the things you want to learn (related to trading technology). I have a lot of ideas, but want to hear from you people first. So what say you? Good idea? Terrible plan? Long GME to the moon?

@Kyle  ........ a.k.a HotKeyle (U do not want to know the image I now have of u with tht name........OMG!   flames around the pic next ?)

great idea some items i use to make trading process more efficient:

1. "Mouse without borders" from MSFT connect up to 4 computer wireless and use one mouse/keyboard

2. Glassbrick  .... MSFT Store......zoom in/out quick with mouse only for poor old eyes like mine

3.  Streamdeck ....... use with old phone or buy hardware, how to....

4. Windows PowerToys to help align DAS windows that u may pop out

How abt feedback from members that u vet and then u could pass on to DAS to improve trading process:

e.g. Alert ..... tie a hot key to an alert so a trade can be executed on alert trigger with the chart background flashing when executed

U ready to release the updates ?...I am so eager to see and implement

GME to the Moon ? man, be over ambitions, dream BIG BIG....the SUN is the target...LOL.......hammer for ants

I'm liking the suggestions, let's keep them rolling in. If you've viewed this thread, surely there's some technical question you've pondered in the past.    🙂

We'll definitely cover a few of these, I have some ideas in mind.

1 and 2) Never used them before, but I'm sure we can work them into an all-inclusive "productivity" enhancement episode.

3 and 4) I use, so I have plans to cover them in detail.

Kyle...My suggestion is to provide New Traders to perfect at least three Trading strategies so that they can settle down. I really like Andrew's 1/5 min ORB Strategy/ABCD and VWAP Reversal. I think we have perfected this but we need more guidance on how to make it perfect.

Also, is there a better way to learn Trade Ideas? I feel it is too powerful but I do not see too much discussion on Trade Ideas within the community. May be I am missing it.

Lastly, the Hotkeys are really glue to everything. I am still struggling with it. Is there a simple way to find documentation on Hotkeys?

I had a couple of automation ideas that I'm curious to hear your thoughts about:

  • Exporting both tickets and orders from DAS to Chartlog (Tickets are needed for actual execution prices and orders are needed for initial stop and target prices.)
  • Opening/ Focusing on a DAS Chart when an alert from Trade-Ideas fires

Don't know if others would be interested, but I'd like to be able to read and understand the hot key scripts. So if you could go through a couple hot key scripts and parse them out loud, narrate what DAS is "thinking," "remembering," "changing," etc. as it reads through the script.

Automation is the exact direction Technology can be used in trading.  The Hotkeys made by Kyle is a major major leap in that direction combined with DAS adding ability to trade and manage orders from charts is a big step.

Trade Ideas has some big automation links built in, as its built in a structured manner on modern tech.

We need to look at the overall trading process, divide each part of that process and see how to make each part more streamlined and easier for the trader.  Look forward to your thoughts.

As u stated :

- Alerts with better visual notification

- Latest News headline of active ticker being presented in premarket show in the blank white area of current pre-market screen

- Using and linking multiple computers (e.g. laptops) for both screen real estate and as a backup device, syncing data/layouts etc.

- Automation of display of scanners and better utilization of screen space at 7:30am

- Can TI scanners send out text message to BBT members who opt in for that type of service depending on members pref for a select scanner ?

- Hotkey/button for free ticker data from Finviz.com, presented in focused manner for BBT traders.

Looking for low hanging fruit solutions that benefits the most amt of traders.

Hi Kyle, I'm interested in hotkeys for Stop Limit orders, where a double click sets the price. Hot key cancels others orders.

Kyle, I second Kevin D, but I'd like a two-click system where the first is the stop-loss and the second is the entry.   How sophisticated can the hotkeys get?  Can I call an external function perhaps in R or Python?
