Sierra Charts looks interesting because it can do footprint charts, heat maps (like Bookmap), DOMS, and lots of other things. With the Denalli data feed providing Level II data, it is also less expensive than DAS. The problem is that you have to "build" everything from scratch, so the learning curve is really high, and it takes a crazy amount of time. There are a few available Sierra templates / chart books out there, but mostly for futures and nothing for equities. Since some BBT members have started using Sierra Charts and having success, I thought it would be great if we could share study collections (indicators), templates, chart books etc. that users have created and found useful for futures and equities trading. This would offer everyone else a starting point and allow them to easily customize it to meet their own needs. Please share.

@KyleK29 I noticed in the DAS "Configuration Management" window under "New Features-under development" the option to turn-on "Hotkey Advanced Script". Have you had a chance to investigate and is there any information available on how it works?

@Sean S Yours looks different from mine. Here is mine for "Long with 50% buying power and $20 risk": StopPrice=Price-0;DefShare=BP*0.5;Price=Ask-Price+0.01;SShare=20/Price;Share=DefShare-SShare;DefShare=DefShare+SShare;SShare=Share;Sshare=DefShare-SShare;Share=0.5*SShare;TogSShare;ROUTE=SMRTL;Price= Ask+0.05;TIF=DAY+;BUY=Send;DefShare=100;TriggerOrder=RT:STOP STOPTYPE:MARKET PX:StopPrice STOPPRICE:StopPrice QTY:Pos TIF:DAY+ ACT:SELL; I simply double-click on the chart (connected to my Montage) where I want my stop, and send the Hot Key. Order is filled and Stop is entered. I found I had to have the Montage set to type "Stop". I do not have any FocusWindow command. Also, I am using the fixed $ risk version from the spreadsheet.

@Sean S, I have no trouble getting the stop orders to trigger using the spreadsheet macros. I found that they work if the Montage is set to style "STOP", and do not work if set to "DEFAULT". Give that a try.

Let me start off by saying I love DAS. After much wasted time, and even more wasted money, I am completely convinced that DAS is the best day trading platform out there (I use it with IB). However, I have struggled with alerts in DAS. They are too cumbersome to setup and adjust . Since I am with IB, I have TWS open and use it for all my alerts. I can easily click and drag the alerts around, and add them just by right-clicking on the chart. Does DAS have the ability to show alerts on the chart, and maybe drag them to new levels, or even right-mouse the alert on the chart to edit? In my opinion, this seems to be one area that DAS could improve, although I might be missing something, like the ability to set an alert using a hot key where you double-clicked on the chart?

This spreadsheet is brilliant! This is the only place on the Internet that I could find that helps traders build hot keys for DAS, and teaches how to use advanced DAS features (like account risk settings). Without BBT, I would never have realized the power of DAS, which I am now convinced is the best trading platform out there for day trading (tried most of them without success). This spreadsheet is another example of BBT's leadership in the day trading community. I have struggled for years with how to rapidly compute position sizing in seconds for a developing setup before I enter a trade; and here it is, in a simple spreadsheet. Now I can double-click where I want my stop loss, send my hot key, and I risk precisely what I specified in the spreadsheet that defined the hot key. Amazing! Thank you BBT! For the first time ever, I have a trading edge; I have accurate defined risk for every trade I take.
