Stock: CCIV Strategy: Fallen angel Why did you take the trade?: The set up presented fairly cleanly, all of my criteria were met: stock gapping up strong, then a sell off so extreme it represents irrationality, finding a support level and then reversing. I waited until it held the support level before entering, I didn't rush into this. This set up is all I trade at the moment. I was already having a strong green day from a previous trade and this made me much more defensive, hence I think I partialled out of this both too quickly and then with a dose of ROMO, partialed the rest too slowly! The first partial was too quick, the second partial was then taken after seeing a strong rejection of VWAP and deciding to just bank the profit and move on. Really it should be the other way around, a partial at VWAP then the rest out at break even. But it's easy with hindsight... Long/Short: Long Entry: 18.18 Risk: 18c S/L: 18.00(basically the bottom of the entry candle, I'd have been out of the position, I wouldn't wait for it to reach that support level. If it hits the support and holds I can always go back in again for another pop but pretty much any red on the P/L ticker would have pushed me out of this position). How did you feel after taking the trade?: Quite calm, but with a feeling I screwed up the partials. Nonetheless I was pleased to have again had the discipline to wait for my set up. I didn't trade again after this. What did you do well?: Waited for my set up, waited for confirmation of support before entering. What can you improve on?: Partialling better to maximise profits. Easy with hindsight. Also later in the session, my fingers turned to ice as I missed two excellent set ups, not wanting to risk my nice green day. One entry was an absolute A+ set up, but I hesitated and missed it. I hope this gets better with time and experience. Questions?: Nothing new at the moment.

I totally agree the better move would be to short from the top, which I do think would be a rising devil. But, at this time I only look for longs. CMEG most often doesn't have shares for short in this price range, and so rather than wobble around trying to find shortable stocks I prefer to simply focus on set ups where I can go long. The plan eventually is to move to IB where shorts are more available and then I'll learn how to short, it'll give set ups exactly like this one. For the Rs - I guess this was 1R in the end given my eventual exit was choosing to just bank profit, but given how fast these moves happen I don't always have time to calculate Rs and targets. I'm more likely to trade the P/L - I'll have a fixed amount in mind that I'm risking, and an idea how much I want to make which is roughly 2.5 Rs. But it's far from precise, and yes in time I'd like to make it more precise. Whilst the set up does present immediately on the open I will take them at any point in the session. The criteria is that there has been an irrational move to the downside. I should stress I'm very much a beginner with this set up and can't yet really speak with much authority, a lot of guess work is still going on!

Text book ABCD! I thought your stop out was awesome too, right at the top of the candle. You "coul.d" have stopped higher, but you might have also missed the high

Stock: DAL Strategy: ABCD Why did you take the trade?: I took this trade because I saw that the stock was consolidating and it was unable to break the 5min 9ema. I got into the trade a little too early but I had a great R/R so I was not stopped out. The stock was also strong at the open due to earnings. Long/Short: LONG Entry: 42.58 Risk: .88 cents S/L: 71.70 How did you feel after taking the trade?: Great this was an A+ setup What did you do well?: Recognizing my pattern and executing the trade with a proper risk to reward. What can you improve on?: I got out a little earlier than expected. While I got 2.6R I could have had 3R

Well done for flipping and going short when you saw the trend developing in that direction on the 1 min chart. I'm interested in how you use the different time frames. Do you have one time frame you watch in particular for set ups with your strategy, and then use other time frames for confirmation / additional information? Or is it more a blend or them all together? Or something you've not really considered before? The point where you first stopped out on the 1 minute chart would make a good short ABCD entry on a 1 min chart, but then you'd need to be prioritising the 1 minute chart to find set ups. There's nothing wrong with this (I use 1 minute charts almost exclusively at the open, given the volatility), but I wonder how far this is considered in your strategy. The other charts here for me don't yet provide much additional help.

Hi Folks My name is Shannon - I'm from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I'm typically a pretty shy person - but thought I'd reach out to the community and see where it leads - I'm quite excited to be a part of the BBT community. I stumbled upon Andrew's book last summer and was immediately drawn to his ability to humbly and clearly communicate information that I find is typically made quite technical and confusing. It led me to the website where I lurked around for a week. Once again I was quite impressed with the humility and helpfulness of not only the moderators - but the entire community. I watched a few trading sessions and browsed through the learning material and decided quite quickly that this was the environment that I wanted to learn to trade - I actually did not even look at any other trading communities - and I became a Lifetime Member. I've spent my entire career of 31 years in emergency services as a paramedic and firefighter. I'm eligible to retire in the next 12 months - not sure exactly when I will - and I've thought several times that Day Trading may be a perfect 2nd career. Fortunately - I have a plenty of time to patiently and systematically learn and practice the material. My dream is to become profitable as a trader so that retirement from my current career is a simple decision - and I can spend more time with my wife and family. Looking forward to this new journey!!

Nine trades today. All were TradeBook setups, but I did break two rules. Traded before the first 1Minute candle finished, and traded in the last hour. Two days in a row that I have stayed away from “No Setup” trades.

@Skye You can trade with under $25K on a cash account. Just "play" with half your account value every day so your money has time to clear. I.E. if you have $15K, use $7.5K per day to trade with and you will have money cleared to play with every day (because it takes 2 days for funds to clear when your account is a cash account instead of a margin account).

For me the debate here is where you've marked 'better entry' on the chart. In hindsight sure, it looks like a better entry, but at the time you've got a right to wait for confirmation before entering. An ABCD, really the 'C' is at the break of the consolidation, right? Certainly on the 5 minute chart that's where you got in, so it still wasn't a bad entry. That said, I can appreciate that having seen a double top already at C might also have been an entry signal. Do you have a strong entry criteria for ABCDs? There are arguments both ways I think.

Those questions you oped there are very interesting, I am afraid I haven't got the answers for them, though if you found out for yourself I would really appreciate if you could share that information with us too. Thank you @krooto! Cristhian Arce

Hey guys! I am Cristhian, I work and live in London, just got started on my trading career, I read Andrews's book "How to day trade for a living" witch I loved and really got me exited about learning all about day trading. Its comforting to know that there are other traders in the UK, for a moment I even wondered if it was possible, as I don't know yet how easy is the process to activate your trading account with a broker from here, how to deal with taxes, etc... I would be happy to have a meet up in central London once this pandemic and the restrictions are over here. Cristhian Arce

Hi everyone, My name is David Zitter, I am 36 years old, from the Netherlands (Rotterdam) and I work there as an occupational health doctor. I have been reading about and orientating myself for roughly 9 months on trading/investing in stocks, and therefore also on day trading. After reading Andrew Aziz’s book "How To Day Trade For A Living" and after that also ""Advanced Techniques in Day Trading", I want to take the serious step of actually being a day trader and am very determined and focussed on being a consistent day trader. Of course first in a simulator, where I am not in a hurry and count on 6 months of training in that simulator before day trading with real money. Further to know, I want to do it next to my work, which is doable on an daily basis because I have a lot of autonomy in my work and because of the +6 hours time difference I can do it after I'm done working. But practically, I think I want to do it 3-4 d/w, but I can also easily see myself doing it 5 d/w. As was the advice I've read, don't trade alone. Besides the part that I very much like the social factor in it, I also value the group effort you can make together. So here I am 🙂, excited to meet all of you! Also, if possible, I'll find here a trading buddy or a mentor to guide me and who I can spar with. And I always enjoy meeting like-minded people, new people, possibly future friends and expanding my network, so I’m always in for a videoconference with a coffee to talk some more about it! I would love to hear from all of you and be part of the community. Cheers, David
