Hey guys, So I've been trading in the simulator for about 3 weeks now. Of course, it has been a massive learning curve for me. I noticed as the time has gone on that I've rushed in at the open with FOMO. Towards the back end of last week, I realised I was losing trades from 09:30-10:00 and then pulling it back from 10:00 onwards. Therefore, I told myself over the weekend that on Monday (today) I would not trade for 30 minutes from the open. 10:00 came, I saw MU reject the VWAP and my plan finally come to fruition. My stop loss was initially $44.55, I then changed it to $44.45 once I covered 50%. My target was for it to break the low of the day but sadly that never happened therefore I partialled along the way. I can't honestly tell you all how happy I am! Not just because it was a winning trade but because I had a plan and I stuck to it. Please see my trade attached. Happy & safe trading!

Exactly this - I was mentioning it a couple weeks back in this same thread. Still happy people have found it to be working with other avenues, but there is no stabler option than Bootcamp.

We had a great study group, it lasted just over an hour and we had 5 participants. We'll plan to do another VPA study group next Tuesday, May 26 at 4 PM ET (market close time). [To those in the group today, I did say we'll do it next Monday, but that's Memorial day and the markets are closed, so we'll do it next Tuesday] This is open to all, but to get the most of the group, it's recommended that you have read Anna Coulling's book "The Complete Guide to Volume Price Analysis" https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Price-Analysis/dp/1491249390 - This group isn't a course on VPA, but rather it's a study group where myself and other participants can screen share to go over how VPA worked (and maybe didn't work) in some of the tickers that people watched and traded that day. I will post the Zoom invite to this forum thread on Tuesday before the meeting, please check back here before market close on Tuesday to get the Zoom invite.

Re-thinking this topic. One option that hasn't been mentioned and may be perfect is a dual-boot scenario. Macs support partitioned dual-booting (boot to full windows OR full mac) for free. You'll still need a windows license. I happen to have a mac laptop I need to erase and update, so I will get a copy of windows and test a dual-boot as an option. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468

I work full time and trade for an hour or so before work, my peak trading time is between 9:30-10AM EST, then maybe a few plays up until 10:30 or so. If you can focus for the first half hour that is all that is needed at least for me to get my trades done. That's plenty of time to catch good moves. Similar to Andrew. But you do need a solid 15-20 min prep to run through the scanners before the market opens. It's gonna take at least a couple years of daily trading to improve accuracy, be patient, remember college, grad school, medical school, law school all days 4-5 years to complete.

Back a year or two ago, I too read her book and took notes of the principles o VPA. But I have had the experience that some of her examples are quite selective to suit the narrative. I tried to do my won studies with the VPA as a backdrop but have had little breakthrough in seeing consistency. Would be interested to join this forum but the nominated time slot does suit as I will be at work at the time. Good luck with your study and this thread
