Today, someone in the chat asked if DAS has the ability to show an alert when certain criteria is met. The answer: YES! To set a price alert, for example, do this: Go to Tools > Alert & Trigger. A window will open. Click Add Alert. Another window will open. Give your alert a name and enter the ticker in the SecSym box. Click ADD. A window will open. Enter the criteria. For this one, I used "last sale" is "greater than or equal to" $176.27. Click OK. Be sure to enable the sound features you want. If you want the DAS man to speak to you, be sure the first box is checked. You can click PREVIEW to hear a sample. We also have this video that shows what I've explained. With day trading, especially scalping, being as close as possible to the exchange is really important. I am not surprised to see network latency in the SE Asia region. I have traded from there before, as well as Europe and from Chile. SE Asia had the worst latency and delay in the feeds by far. The problem is your data has to go through many routes to get to and from the servers. Even fiber is not going to help you much. You might want to consider setting up a Microsoft Azure cloud VM. Remote into that and trade from it. You can have it set it up in the central US or as close as one of their regional data centers is to the exchanges. Jason

Yeah, with the market we're currently in, I've personally noticed a lot more stocks following the SPY. I think with all the indecision and fear, it will push stocks to follow it or their industry very closely. It'll definitely limit my watch list, but I still like to stay clear of stocks trading with the SPY. I'll let someone else chime in about if the SPY is moving "can we still trade patterns against it and other stocks moving with it?". Only because I don't do much pattern trading; I do a lot of ORBs and momentum scalping.
