Okay day..., +$280.20 on a small, live ($5k) Account - 1.84 Ratio with a 59% Winning Strike Rate.

Overtraded, was up $230 on 1st trade and should have walked away...., than gave some back and went back up to $280 but 17 trades..., Commissions will bite. Ended green over $100 so not too bad.

Lots of learning, no FOMO and walk away with One good trade!!!!!

One and done today, went long IGC at the same time as Andrew (I was following this before he called it out) 1000 shares made $150 and jumped out.

Today I am training myself to be disciplined, I am NOT going to take anymore trades even though I saw A1 setups again.., small accounts have to be dealt differently.

So for the week I am up $631, so about a $500+ after commissions, could have been better, commissions will kill a small account.

Target was to end green for the week, ended up 10%, but all a fluke. Next week target is again to stay green after commissions.

Lesson of the week: FOMO leads to Commissions leads to depleted Small Accounts. I was up $1400 but ended up $500....

Next week is all about the following 2 things:

1. Discipline. Taking 1 or 2 solid trades based on 2 below.

2. Having a plan on 1 or 2 stock based on daily/PM rice action with defined triggers, stops, entries and targets. Read the news, volume analysis and S/R.

Becoming more of a Low Float trader. + $420 today. 16.67 Ratio - 75% strike rate... Not bad.., This is a smaller $5k account.

So the learning here is that I jumped out on both trades early, however these are MOMO pushes on open and there is no clear level. One strategy would be to scale out, but with small account is it is hard due to commissions.., so when I trade larger I can do that, currently only trading < = 1000 shares.

The other learning, I jumped in to IGC Pre-market (Error) and lost, I than jumped in again but bailed as soon as I made my loss + Commissions, it went higher.... I don't trade PM so not a good decision.

I am getting better, doing fewer trades and walking away green... so that is a plus

Hi Nassar, nice work on trades today! I use CMEG as well and yes the new ECN fees make it tough if you are trading that share size 😞 so I tend to stick to stocks over $15 at the very least. The low commission with CMEG allows me to develop proper scaling out discipline vs SureTrader where we are banged 5 bux per trade. Question, do you look at your week-over-week performance or the month as a whole? I prefer week-over-week myself. And are you using TraderVue to get those stats?

Great Job Nas,

$IGC is an fantastic trade and execution.Very well defined pattern. Great entry and exit scaling out. A + trade

*Tip: IGC offered a similar setup close to the open around 9:35 with volume confirming the 1 minute candle to make NH, but you were trading CLDC I believe. Nonetheless, great job!

$CLDC great use of PM highs, break of whole dollar and volume.

*Tip:  In such a strong mover and with a good entry scaling 3/4 of the position on the first target can be a good idea, you realize 3/4 and use the "rest" as a decoy, to see where is going next; either to generate extra profit, give you a better average for a second move or since is an "extra" get out at BE, this idea is for maybe a bigger account and less comm. With commission and ECNS piling up realizing profit in one lot seems to be the right decision.

Great job, keep up the good work my friend.

Best,

Fernando.

Hi Brendon, thanks for looking.

Yes I hear you on the commissions. I tend to do better on the lower priced stocks.

I simm traded 7 months and been live 3 weeks. I captured all my stats in Tradervue (strategy, float, long/short, time of day etc) and worked with my mentor to refine my plays and eliminate weakness.

I am live on a very small account and do plan to size up gradually as I gain more confidence, so this won’t be a problem.

I am also moving to Centerpoint next week, better commission structure and also better locates if shorts.

Tradervue is amazing, could not have done without it.

If you go the beginning of this thread you can see I started posting some June and have kept a very detailed journal.

Inlike low floats as they make sense to me and work for me. It’s very personal and unique for everyone. Journaling will help discover your niche or ‘edge’ as it called.

Great feedback! Thanks for it. I do plan on improving moving forward and will correct my playbook strategies based on your comments for sure.

Red Day - there was volume but no volatility today.Took some trades. I cut some to late and some too soon, so added to my losses, but with Low Floats you need to protect your account. I managed to contain revenge trading and avoided blowing my account (Today). Had a good day yesterday, so still up for the week. Was only down $60 today but commissions got me down further. This is the real world. No biggie, good thing, even though I knew I should have bailed early for a net loss of $10.00 but got into FOMO and went down to $142.

Interesting, I noted in chat that today was not a good day. and should have sat on my hands, next time listen to your own advice. We have 3 more days!!!

0.48 Profit factor and a 25% win rate

Yup today was garbage at the open except for KR, around 10AM things settled a bit and we had some good setups in AMD and BABA, SQ ehh. I lost early on getting stopped out on huge swings near the open (MU), a lot of traders experienced the same chop. On days like today it's best to sit on your hands for a half hour and see what's going on. If you are thinking to yourself, it doesn't look good out there, don't go out, better black than red. If you watched Andrew, he experienced the ichiban also with AMD but he stops out on a dime and survived, never fails to amaze.

Agreed, I am not as experienced as Andrew nor have the temperament yet (Will get there in a year) - For someone like me, I should have just taken a back seat earlier or not trade at all. See, if you make like 100 or 200 on a good trade on a $5k account, and you only do 2 - 3 trades a week, you still end up with 450 which is 9% F'ing brilliant!!!!

I will do a personal journal update on my learnings here as a post later tonight. I am glad I got out with a relatively small loss (140) vs blowing my account and sill up 226 for the week.... 3 more days to go!

Trader's Log - Oct 9th, 2018

========================

I think I went in today with a mentality to Protect my good gains from Monday..., I was taking opportunistic pops hoping to make money and bailed when I did not see them resolve instantly.
I almost dedicated to one setup which is MOMO break. This caused me to scale out of 2 perfectly good entries:

1. PBR long at 9:53 which i jumped out quickly fearing losses. It resolved very well and could have been a great winner
2. Same on NIO at 9:48 missed the fallen Angel breakout to long, I anticipated it and got distracted, it moved without me and I jumped in on FOMO and chased it causing me to stop myself. I re-entered and could not take the brunt of the move.
3. The last 2 trades on NIO were both chases on FOMO, the last gave me a profit but I did not cut it, let it run and lost a small bit.
4. Both first trades were valid in NIO and PBR, cut too soon.

I need to concentrate on the setup as an individual entity and only play it on its own merit.

The other thing was, I knew there was not much volume today and Price action on Low Floats was sketchy. I did not locate any worthy shorts as well. I mistook PBR for a low float when it really isn't its got billion+ shares LOL also NIO did not have the range.

I need to be more selective on stock picks and just not play if they don't present themselves as complaint. I forced trades and got caught up in not wanting to lose money (FEAR) and psychological pain

Hopefully this was on the back of Memorial Day and tomorrow will provide better opportunities in Low Float world.... Still learning, everyday
