Daniel Meakin 96 Posted August 29, 2019 29/8/19 got a bit drunk last night so not feeling my best. pretty bad day, not too sure what happened think im just hungover. nope i didnt take good setups, was too keen today ill get a good sleep tonight and refresh. 9 trades: 1 winner (descending triangle/triple top reversal) 2 break even (ascending triangle x 2) 6 losers (ORB, ABCD, no setup x 4) Trade 1: 5 min ORB on ANF entry on a pullback, no luck. gonna try pay more attention to the level 2 for ORBS which ive been practising today after the open. Trade 2: looked like an ABCD on the 1 and also a slight ascending triangle but went against me. Trade 3: again kinda ABCD/ ascending triangle, got 1 partial then out at b/e Trade 4: no idea really what i was thinking here. Trade 5: descending wedge but not really, terrible entry as was on SSR. bad trade. Trade 6: think i was chasing a trend trade here, bad again. Trade 7: ascending triangle which made a good pop but didnt have the juice to carry on. Trade 8: This was the only good trade of the day, descending triangle at the top of an uptrend which sent the stock all the way down to where it opened, i got out too soon though when it started making higher highs and lows on the 5. still a nice profit.

Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 3, 2019 30/8/19 feel kinda awful this morning, external things getting the better of my mood/mental health but trying not to let it keep me down. so if it starts to go terribly today i may stop early but still gonna give it a go. seems i cant win recently. even the triangles weren't my friend today. 13 trades: 2 winners ( no setup x 2 lol) 11 losers (5 min ORB, 15 min ORB, no setup, VWAP bounce x 3, wedge breakdown, wedge breakup x 4) Trade 1: 5 min ORB, volume wasnt with me. Trade 2: 15 min ORB after a low vol pullback got in, but bounced strongly off a daily level. Trade 3: tried again stupidly... Trade 4: got in again after it bounced off VWAP but stopped out. Trade 5: and again... Trade 6: same thing on marvel. Trade 7: kindof a wedge breakdown but the wedge wasnt quite right so shouldnt have taken this one. Trade 8: wedge breakup but same not quite right wedge. Trade 9: wedge breakup with no pop Trade 10: wedge breakup, didnt get a partial then switched positions at b/e then switched again before b/e for some profit. then stopped out. stupid over trading. Trade 13: switched positions again for some profit but no setup.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 3, 2019 3/9/19 really bad week last week, think ive made the decision to stay in sim for another 3 months when this one expires, need to put emphasis on putting a proper playbook together and only taking trades when they meet all the requirements. going to need to study charts to put it together so starting next week im going to be putting more hours in to do this as im busy this week. Had a much better day today, trading day was cut short as i had some stuff to take care of but had a good morning. ive rearranged my DAS a bit so im watching less stocks, but i have more montage and time and sales windows open so i can pay more attention to the level 2 data which i think is helping me get a feel for the strength of stocks. i find it annoying that when you use the montage window to look at a new stock, it only has recent exchanges in the time and sales, hence why now im watching less but dont change stocks throughout the day so i can see all the large trades that have happened to get an idea of strength. 4 trades: 3 winners (5 min ORB, false breakout, wedge breakup) 1 loser (not really a setup) Trade 1: 5 min ORB on SNAP, volume increasing with bulls, low volume pullback, great entry, good partials then out at b/e. great trade. Trade 2: AMD went below VWAP after a long choppy period so went short but stopped out as i kinda realised it wasnt a good setup. Trade 3: MDCO was weak at the open, came above VWAP then lost it with volume, went short for a decent trade and got out when it started increasing with heavy volume. Trade 4: saw lower highs being made so went short at the top of the triangle, i think i prefer these entries when i can draw a clear line on the descending side of the triangle, it gives a bit more room for a stop. i had to leave half way through this trade so set a trailing stop, otherwise i wouldve taken a partial at a level on the chart for more profit, but still hit my daily target.
Mike B 624 Posted September 3, 2019 Playbook is the key that way you can evaluate yourself and see what is working and what is not working for you. It also helps with improving discipline and dealing with trades that just do not work out even though they are good setups.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 4, 2019 4/9/19 feel pretty tired today, bad sleep, but its another short day for me so just gonna learn what i can while im here had a pretty good day, 2 winners totaling about 8R, then had 2 small losers totalling 3R but carried on even though i hit my target and got another 2 losers. but still a pretty green day. and another 2 losers... waa and another 2 winners hooraaah and now calling it a day with 7.5 Rs in the bag. 10 trades 4 big winners (5 min ORB, VWAP play, pendant x 2) 6 losers (triple bottom reversal, wedge breakup, VWAP play, wedge breakdown, trend trade bad setup, abcd/ VWAP play) Trade 1: 5 min ORB on MU, bullish volume, low volume pullback, great entry, good partials, survived the VWAP test. great trade. Trade 2: saw the triple bottom form but was making lower highs so shouldve waited for confirmation. Trade 3: ROKU making higher lows against resistance., went long but stopped out, wedge wasnt perfect so not A1. Trade 4:broke above VWAP, waited for it to retest, went long survived the second retest then waited until i started partialling. Trade 5: couldnt lose VWAP to the short side, saw a lot of buying come in, morning star on the 5 min, was confident about this but was against the trend. Trade 6: another wedge breakdown but the wedge wasnt great again. Trade 7: trend trade got in on a pullback but shouldnt have taken this i dont usually do well at these. Trade 8: MU bork out of a consolidation phase with volume and started consolidating again, went long with stop at the support. all the time and sales were suggesting a long but i guess all the stops got triggered at once and it dropped. given almost all my earning back now... boooo Trade 9: pendant formed on ROKU, got in just after it broke with volume, didnt stop out (love Kyles hot key ) and got a nice profit Trade 10: then saw the exact same thing on SBUX straight after i got out of roku and did pretty much the same trade. made back all my losses and then some finishing my day 7.5 Rs in the green.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 5, 2019 5/9/19 feel good today decent sleep. such a frustrating day. ended up quite in the red, first time ive really experienced greed and it really messed me up when i should be in the green. 10 trades: 1 winner (wedge breakup) 1 should be winner but got greedy (pendant) 8 losers (5 min ORB, engulfing open x 2, no setup x 4, wedge breakdown) Trade 1: 5 min ORB, volume seemed bearish, got in on a pullback made a hotkey error and got in twice but apart from that it was a great trade that didnt go my way. no complaints here. Trade 2: this was pretty bad, second 5 min candle engulfed the first so got in with a bad entry, stopped out, got in again, stopped out. broke my rule of only doing 1 trade at the open. Trade 4: i was waiting for a VWAP bounce to go long but got impatient so went long, added and stopped out, clearly my psychology was messed up by this point. Trade 5: then traded it the other way when i created a wedge in my head, stupid trade. Trade 6: same thing again. Trade 7: simple overtrading. Trade 8:this was a better wedge and got in just before the pop. Trade 9: wedge breakdown, got a late entry and it didnt really have any juice so stopped out. Trade 10: this trade REALLY messed me up. saw a pendant, got in just before the pop, added on the way up but i was late because i havent configured the add to exsisting position hotkey yet, and i was about 6 Rs up on this trade and wouldve been well in the green if i got out but i got really greedy and held it hoping it would go higher since i already made so much so quickly and ended up losing everything.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 11, 2019 11/9/19 missed the last couple of days as im not feeling well. pretty mixed day ending in the red, think im overtrading and my head is killing me by the end of today so gonna keep this brief as possible 16 trades. Trade 1: ORB on MU but wasnt ready. Trade 2: got in again when it came above VWAP for a nice trade. Trade 3:MU couldnt make new highs and had a support line to form a wedge but broke out the other way. Trade 4:ROKU broke through VWAP and held, went long for a nice trade, tried to add at a consolidation but stopped out. Trade 5: MU couldnt break the wedge again. Trade 6: tried to get in again and it popped but with no juice. Trade 7: pendant breakout, i stopped out just before it did breakout, shouldve made my stop further away. Trade 8: trend trade on MU/reverse ABCD, got 1 partial then out at b/e Trade 9: trend trade on AAPL, added on another pullback. got a partial then tried to add again, shoulve waited for confirmation on that last add, then stopped out. Trade 10: the double shooting star on the 5 made me think reversal but didnt work out. Trade 11: trend trade which went my way, i added then by mistake added LOADs so panicked and got out pretty swiftly. Trade 12: this felt like a pendant breakout but no luck Trade 13: another pendant breakout which worked, got a partial then tried to add when i saw a triangle forming at the top but it went the other way. Trade 14: tried to get into the trend on MU, made a double top so i switched positions but stopped out annoyingly before it made the move up. Trade 16: trend trade again and then left my comp with a stop set and came back to being stopped out.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 12, 2019 12/9/19 had a really good day today, did a good job of letting my runners run i think and kept my losers small. 7 trades 3 winners ( VWAP reversal, ABCD, VWAP bounce/trend trade) 2 b/e (VWAP bounce, no setup but maybe it should be ) 2 losers (5 min ORB, engulfing orb) total 8Rs before commisions. Trade 1:5 min ORB, all the volume seemed to be bearish, got a great entry but stopped out. no complaints here. Trade 2: went for an engulfing pattern but stopped out on the pull back. Trade 3: strong open, sold off and bounced off some levels, kinda an abcd cause its not quite at VWAP but got out at b/e. Trade 4: got into AAPL when it made a new 5 min high after the open, waited to see what it did at VWAP, went to add when it bounced off VWAP but got a really bad fill, but still got some really nice profit out of it when spy made it jump. Trade 5: KR had a HUGE sell off and when it bounced off one of my daily levels and couldnt make a new 5 min low i went long and it wouldve been a really good trade if i left it but i got shook out when it started making 1 min lows because of the huge initial drop. Trade 6: after its initial rise it made such a clear ABCD pattern so jumped in, held through VWAP and beyond. i tried adding when an ascending triangle formed but had no juice. still a really nice trade Trade 7: seemed to reject VWAP after being strong, went long, survived the second VWAP test, added on a higher low and got 1 partial then out when it broke the 9 on the 5 and made a new 15 min low, but it did carry on going up after this, maybe i shouldve held it longer, need a rule for this i think. maybe ill speak to kurt
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 13, 2019 13/9/19 had a decent day today but feel like i couldve ended much higher, made good trades but made mistakes and so lost out 7 trades: 4 small winners (wedge breakup, trend trade from VWAP x 2, pendant breakout) ended 1.5 Rs up 1 b/e (trend trade from VWAP) 2 losers (engulfing, pendant breakout) Trade 1: went for a engulfing pattern when bullish volume came in but stopped out. Trade 2: still looked bullish and a ascending triangle was forming so went long got a great pop, tried adding later but then it went the other way. Trade 3: once it broke VWAP i waited for a pullback and confirmation and went short, added as it made a new low and then got one nice partial then out at b/e Trade 4: pendant break out, didnt work but i took the break out on the other side which did work, trade is at the bottom. Trade 5: took this short once it rejected VWAP after a pullback. my share size was too small though so didnt get any partials before i got out at b/e Trade 6: came above VWAP, held so went long, again share size too small to get any partials before i got out at b/e Trade 7: went short out of a pendant got partials along the way, accidently got out and back in at one point, also tried to add at the end then got out at b/e but shouldve given it more room past the 20 on the 5min and then i wouldve had a really big winner.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 16, 2019 16/9/19 okay day today, overtraded a bit in the middle but finished with a nice trade to bring me to b/e. 10 trades: 3 winners (ORB, wedge breakup, pendant breakout) 7 losers (ORB, ABCD, VWAP hold, no setup x 2, pendant breakout, wedge breakup) finished 0.5R down Trade 1: ORB on OXY volume was with the bulls but stopped out. Trade 2: after it rejected VWAP i got back in for a decent trade. Trade 3: i actually stopped out by accident so i got back in after it made an abcd but didnt take any partials so stopped out. Trade 4: after it went through VWAP and held i went short, a descending triangle formed but broke out the other way so i stopped out for a small loss. Trade 5: this was just chopping around VWAP shouldnt have really got in this. # Trade 6: overtrading really... Trade 7: ascending triangle formed near VWAP when AMD had been strong so went long for the pop, it couldnt break the HOD so got out. Trade 8: ascending triangle but was pretty extended allready so didnt have the juice to pop so stopped out. Trade 9: aapl made a pendant at VWAP and it popped but no continuation. Trade 10: OXY was in a long consolidation, it started to break out and i got a great entry, punched through VWAP then started tending up, got out half for a big profit then out the rest below the MAs on the 5.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 17, 2019 17/9/22 okay day, finished 2 Rs down, still just too many losers but was a real choppy day. had to abandon my watchlist half way through and trade things that were moving. 11 trades: 2 winners (VWAP hold, pendant reversal) 1 b/e (no setup) 8 losers (ORB, VWAP breakout x 2, no setup x 2, pendant breakout, chasing ABCD x 2) Trade 1: ORB on snap but got in too early, had a big pop after this, shouldve waited to see the support before i got in. Trade 2: After KHC got out of its consolidation i went long at VWAP with increasing volume but was pure chop. Trade 3: was a bad entry not sure what the setup was either. Trade 4: chased the entry on this pendant breakout, didnt work anyway, the pendant wasnt perfect. Trade 5: over trading. Trade 6: finally a good trade, punched above VWAP, held, then held again with a shooting star on the 1 min, got a great entry and rode it up partialling at resistance Trade 7: was looking to get in early hoping a triangle would form but shouldve waited for confirmation because i went short just after a double bottom. stupid. Trade 8: looked like it was losing VWAP so went long, AAPL was so choppy so got out at b/e Trade 9: ROKU broke out of a pendant at HOD, missed the entry so waited for a pullback and got in as it went down again, added halfway down then got some good partials around VWAP. Trade 10: market was going mental and i chased ENPH up twice. stupid.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 18, 2019 18/9/19 okay day again today, similar to yesterday with 7 small losers and 1 big winner at the end bringing me to b/e. 9 trades : 1 winner (VWAP hold) 8 losers (ORB, Trade 1: 5 min ORB waited more patiently than usual for a good sized pullback and confirmation but still no dice. Trade 2: saw a double hammer on the 5 min chart so went long for a reversal but roku was too weak today. Trade 3: looked like an ascending triangle pressed against resistance but didnt have the juice and rejected VWAP. Trade 4: ascending triangle again but had no pop. Trade 5: this broke through VWAP strongly and then help so i went long but it lost it with a vengeance so stopped out. Trade 7: reversals are not my forte i must say. double top, big rejection on the 1 min so went long, stopped out. Trade 8: looked like it was breaking out of this pendant with some volume but just could no break 149.75, mustve been a hidden seller there... eventually it broke down. Trade 9: strong rejection at LOD, came above VWAP and held so i went long, it came back tested again and had a strong rejection so i added and then rode it up to the HOD partialling at resistance levels. this made up all my lossed pretty much. same good trade as yesterday. this is my first A1 setup.
Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 20, 2019 20/9/19 So i have decided to go live and have been preparing the last couple of days. My plan is to have 1 trade at the open and 1 more after 10:30 earliest and only 1 specific set up. if i lose both of those then no more live trading and my DAS risk controls wont let me go past that. i will keep trading in sim throughout the day. okay so i didnt find an ORB so did a trade later in the morning. did 3 live trades, no winners and felt okay about that until i did my third trade because i knew i broke my rule, but i didnt hit max loss so kinda bent it. still annoying. also it was kinda worth it because it made me realise my DAS risk controls arent working so i need to look into that. 3 trades: 3 losers (VWAP hold, pendant breakout, bottom reversal) Trade 1: came above VWAP with clear direction, tested a couple of times so went long, ended up just consolidating for a while before it lost VWAP, not a bad trade. Trade 2: i was waiting for this to break out of the pendant, but there was a descending triangle forming in the pendant, which i wouldve traded but i was waiting for it to get one more touch on the support. anyway it broke out of the pendant which is my entry but the move was already so extended and didnt have the juice to carry on. Trade 3: this was really a silly trade, trying to catch a knife on ROKU, was at a serious support level and seemed to double top, i lost confidence and got out at the bottom as i didnt wanna get squeezed in the pop. Daniel Meakin 96 Posted September 25, 2019 25/9/19 so i went live with IB thinking i could trade without being affected by the PDT rule as im in the UK, i was wrong. so im in the process of changing brokers. overtraded a bit in the morning today as i know i do but its just in sim so its okay. 8 trades: 2 winners (pendant plays) 2 winners that turned into losers bacause i added (ABCD/pendant, wedge breakup/ VWAP hold) 4 losers ( ORB, VWAP play, wedge breakup, VWAP false breakout) Trade 1: took an ORB on NKE but stopped out, got back in when it looked like it was getting some direction but stopped out again. Trade 3: this was a triangle play. these never work in the morning after selling off im gonna put them on my ban list before half 10. Trade 4: this wwas a VWAP false breakout, actually a decent set up with a retest but didnt work out. Trade 5: took a brake and came back. saw a really nice pendant form so went short at the break for a nice trade with 2.5:1 Trade 6: saw another pendant, got the first entry wrong but it worked out the second time for a good trade with 2:1 Trade 7: first entry was a big ABCD on the 5. second was an add when it broke out of a pendant, unfortunately my size was just too big and i stopped out before it went up again. need to not add so heavy. Trade 8: first entry was a wedge breakup got a partial at VWAP, then when it retested VWAP and rejected i added. but then it broke VWAP and went down so stopped out.
