    Lenny's ORB Program

Hello, Has any taken Lenny's Program on Opening Range Breakouts for 1399.99. I was wondering can you share your thought, what did you think of it, does he explain it well, have you been successful with the strategy, is it worth the money..etc. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. Hey guys. I was reviewing some of my trades in my journal from today, and wondering if you guys think my selection was good for this 5-min ORB. Here is the 1-min and 5-min charts. On the open, AAPL had strong volume to the upside. It pulled back to below the VWAP, then had a strong bullish candle on the 6-th candle. I bought in as soon as it closed above the VWAP. My stop loss was the loss of the VWAP with my first partial target at the 200 MA touching the high of the day. Pre-market, AAPL opened lower. I know an A+ setup would be if AAPL was gapping upwards, it opened around the VWAP and moved higher, pulled back but did not lose the VWAP, then I could enter. Because the pullback broke the VWAP before moving higher, does this make my entry here bad?
  3. Hi, I'm brand new to using DAS, but have spent a lot of time using TradingView. One thing I have setup on my TradingView chart is auto drawing of lines on the high and low of the first 1 min candle (it also shows profit targets based off the opening range, but this feature isn't really necessary). I really like seeing the 1 min opening range on my chart as it helps me clearly identify 1 min ORBs. In the screen shot you can see what it looks like on my TradingView chart. The first candle on the left is the first minute. Is it possible to set this up in DAS? Thanks!
  4. Let´s use this thread to discuss Opening Range Breakout Strategy (ORB), a strategy with the potential to make us very happy or very miserable right at the open of the market. Let´s discuss success cases, failed ORBs and how to improve the chances to take a successful ORB in order to finish happy and early our trading days. Opening Range Breakout Strategy according to Andrew first book: "How to Day Trade for a Living: Tools, Tactics, Money Management, Discipline and Trading Psychology": 1. Monitor the stocks in watchlist for the first five minutes. identify opening range and price action. Look for a directional upward or downward movement in the one minute chart. Look for high volume with many orders going through. 2. The opening range must be significantly smaller than the stock’s Average True Range (ATR). See how to add ATR to daily chart in DAS Trader Pro. 3. See if the stock is breaking the opening range, enter the trade according to the direction of the breakout: long for an upward breakout and short for a downward move. 4. Stop loss is a close below VWAP for the long positions and a break above VWAP for the short positions. 5. Profit target is the next important technical level, such as: levels you identified in the pre-market, moving averages on a daily chart, and/ or previous day close. 6. If there is no clear technical level for profit target, exit when the stock shows signs of weakness (if long) or strength (if short). For example, if the price makes a new 5-minute low, that means weakness and consider selling your position if you´re long. If I you´re short and the stock makes a new 5-minute high, then it could be a sign of strength so consider covering your short position. For examples of ORBs, please post 1 & 5 minute (or longer time frame in case of 10, 15, or 30 min ORBs), with your entries and exits, pointing why it was a successfull or unsuccessfull ORB.
  5. I know that Andrew tries to enter his ORB based on the body of the 5 min candle and not the extremes of the candle wick. This seems logical to me based on the fact that this is where the candle has closed. That being said, I know of another successful trader who enters his ORB's based on the end of the candle wick, sometimes resulting in somewhat overextended entries but possibly more confirmed ones? I know there are a million different ways to make money in the market if anyone has any constructive input on this I am sure it might help the community a lot.
  6. Hi everyone, I have just started the process of setting up my Trade Ideas scanners to try and catch good 5 min and 15 min Opening Range breakouts (long + short). Just wondering if anyone here had any input as to what types of parameters might be good to consider when creating this scanner alert. Thanks, Patrick
