While you need a stock that's moving, hence a volatile stock, that isn't the only criteria. Some stocks are heavily manipulated and some aren't. But the first hour and a half of the trading day are more consumer oriented and can be swayed somewhat. But the rest of the day is driven by institutions running computers with algorithms that have specific programmed agendas that you can't know. And if several of them work on a single stock it's choppy and unpredictable. The most predictable time of the day is an hour to an hour and a half after the bell.

When you get in with SpeedTrader make sure to update immediately as they give you a really old version to install and the desktop you develop in the sim will not work if you don't. Also note that their included "sim paper account" will constantly default back to the real account in the montages. While you can use it don't screw around. Make trades like your account depends on it because you may look down and find it does.

Kochu This is for a planned meet and greet in Atlanta, your question would probably be better somewhere else however to answer your question.. I can't see that a simulated trade once a week is going to really help, or a better way to say it is it wouldn't inspire confidence in me.

Depending on what day it is I would love to come meet my fellow traders. My wife travels a lot for her job (she travels so much she is one of the top Diamond Delta members) so I have to work around that. I have two older dogs that I can't leave alone for an extended time. But since they are AWESOME dogs it's fine. To me this is just a big game, and I love games. The psychology of the trade is really interesting.
