  1. Marcel thanks for sending this. Just to clarify for everyone. Marcel setup a phone messaging group that we used for maybe 2 months now, but we are not able to add some phone numbers and we don't know the reasons. It could be some problem with imessage on iphone. Please if you want to join the whatsapp BBT CO group go ahead and shortly introduce yourself so we know who is who. This morning we had a bkfst meeting - Marcel, Brian and me. I really enjoyed it, it was a very lively conversation. We hope more people can join next time.
  2. 4-5 of us have scheduled to meet for breakfast on Sunday, Sept 15th, 8:30am at the Bacon Social House, 2434 W 44th Ave, Denver, Co 80211. If anyone else in Colorado is able to join please do. Cheers nik
  3. Can everyone that can make it this weekend confirm here and let us know a preferred date - 14 or 15 Sept? Lets not wait till the last moment because we can all make other plans for the weekend if this does not work out.
  4. just recently started recording recaps with OBS. But I cant figure out how to make OBS capture Epic Pen. Looked all over forums on the web and tried all suggested. Nothing worked. I have an AMD video card. Has anyone experienced and solved that problem?
  5. Marcel, I am not sure what you mean by 'do something'. Just have a local meetup or organize something larger where we can invite BBT Andrew and other BBT moderators? We have discussed tentatively that we may meet Sept 15 in the morning for breakfast. Would that work for ppl in Denver metro and other parts of Colorado? If to invite moderators we need to be very serious before we do this and know for sure, almost 100%, who is coming.
  6. paint keyboard hotkeys I saw my daughter painting with these acrylic paint markers and decided to try a trick. Cheap MSFT keyboard. Decided to not paint on top of keys so it does not annoy me when I touch the keys. I uses SHIFT as the main auxiliary key for all. I enter a position as a % of BP. My hotkeys to exit a position use SHIFT only to remove liquidity and CTRL+SHIFT to add liquidity.
  7. meetup tonight CANCELED A few people canceled today and the rest of us that were sure we were going now decided to cancel too.
  8. Actually as I was scrolling through the pages your setup was one of my favorite ones.
  9. everyone on all message forums is discussing Blue Moon for this Thursday. I say we finalize it. DollarBill hopefully this works for you this time. Next time we can meet some other place. (I live 5min away from Rock Bottom ) ==================================== 6pm, May 30th, 2019 Blue Moon Brewing Company 3750 Chestnut Pl, Denver, CO 80216 ====================================
  10. rock bottom or blue moon? Let's finalize location and ask Abiel to announce it in Alerts. Dave, Marcel created a message group. He will probably add you to it today. There we have been agreeing to go blue moon this time.
  11. since we have people all over the metro I agree meeting at Blue Moon makes most sense. Then we can discuss other location/s for next time once we meet. 6pm on the 30th works for me. Nik (303) 332-8166
  12. I was also thinking the 30th. In Broomfield 'Rock Bottom' (104th/36) is not a bad choice. I also know two good Mexican restaurants. If downtown Denver we can go to Blue Moon Brewing Company - it is spacious and great choice for brews, has parking space too. If you want to meet for coffee I am not sure what is a good place; please suggest something.
  13. definitely afternoon or evening, I can be flexible in this zone on Thursdays. I don't have a preference whether just for coffee or grab a beer. Depending on other people availability and preference. I am in for anything.
  14. How about any of the next three Thursdays - 16, 23, or 30 May? Are other people available to join?
  15. hi guys, just checking if anyone can recommend a tax accountant in Denver metro that is familiar with the trading specifics as outlined by GreenTraderTax. thanks nik
  16. April is gone. Meet sometime in May? Please share interest and availability. cheers nik
  17. Here is my setup. I don't do gaming, so my computer is cheap but powerful enough to support two trading stations if you need to and in addition I heavily use my computer for statistical analysis. Total cost with monitors, desk, battery backup ~ $1800 if you buy most of your stuff on ebay, which I don't see why you should not. PC - Dell Precision Tower 5810, 4 physical core XEON at 3.5Ghz, 16GB memory (DDR4 2400Ghz). I bought this off ebay for about $350. You can look for more powerful versions of Dell Tower with even 2x6core XEON processors and up to 256GB of RAM. Your budget is the limit. The computer came with an NVIDIA Quadro K2200 video card, so I had to replace this one with a card that supports more monitors. Video Card - VisionTec Radeon HD 7750. Supports 6 mini display ports. I bought off ebay used for $155. Here is a version of it on amazon. I am impressed with the card, and so far it even works well with the Ubuntu system I have on double boot on the same machine. https://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Radeon-7750-GDDR5-MiniDP/dp/B00C7EPSVS/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=radeon+7750&qid=1556235510&s=gateway&sr=8-3 Monitors - I already had a 32inch monitor so I decided to build a 4x32" WQHD. I have two more ports on videocard to expand if needed. 2x Samsung s32d850t - one off Amazon for $400 a year ago, and another one from ebay used for $200. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L3KNOF4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 2xAcer ET322QU from Newegg, brand new, for about $200 each. Obviously the samsung are much better monitors, but the ACERs are ok for this job. I think it is this model: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0JC-000P-007P5&Description=Acer ET322QU&cm_re=Acer_ET322QU-_-0JC-000P-007P5-_-Product Monitor stands - I needed tall stands for the second row, and one shorter one for first row. Here is my choice, works fine. Vivo Extra Tall Stand V011 - 2x$38 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BO42XK0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Gibbon Mounts SIngle Monitor - about $20 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078WP31LS/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?pd_rd_i=B078WNGF9N&pd_rd_w=rNubY&pf_rd_p=8a8f3917-7900-4ce8-ad90-adf0d53c0985&pd_rd_wg=cHTwm&pf_rd_r=MQ6PW2TDGNQM3GRK2BJY&pd_rd_r=bd467261-67b6-11e9-af2b-df456cd2a423&th=1 Mouse - yep, I think I am developing a wrist problem with a typical mouse, so I tried this one and so far I love it. I think this may not fit small hands or very large hands. For me it is just right, with a little difficulty to use the scroll wheel - need a longer finger. But the ergonomics of it is brilliant. $15 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPAVUHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Battery - APC UPS BX1500M - $160. With the current PC/monitor setup it shows 22min work on batt with 4 monitors on, and 60min on batt with 1 monitor on. Planning t by a separate support for my router package. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VY6FXMM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Desk - IKEA - total for desk maybe $320 at most. Overall the desk seems very strong so far given all the load on it. I keep it in a standing position. Skarsta desk. I did not buy the top as those were flimsy. Instead I bought a different top and just screwed it in. The price of desk will drop a little if you don't take the original top. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S49084965/ Desk top - Gerton - this is so strong you can dance on it. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50106773/ Laptop - MacbookPro 15", i7 4 core, 16GB, extra video card can support 3 monitors. I just installed Windows 10 Pro via the BootCamp (it has to be Win 10, as it won't accept Win 7). The Windows itself you can download from MSFT website and create an iso image. Then buy a legal code from ebay for about $7. I have to admit that I have not yet tried to plug 3 monitors to it with the Win system, so I maybe in for a surprise. If you have any questions or believe I can help you with something please reach out.
  18. Thanks Lee, I don't know how i missed to see the examples on IB website the other day. Clearly fixed fee covers ECN and almost all other fees:
  19. Thanks Jason. Have you figured out the answer to this question? "The question now is when do they occur ? and under what conditions you will be charged a third party fee ?" I wonder if some routes are lower cost, and what is optimal? From the pure economics of it, the cheaper routes are probably the slowest or the lowest chance to execute when you need it. In any case, is there are thread in the forum that you know of that explains the different routes and some optimization on these alternatives? The table that you derived on the tiered fees break down, have you tested a fixed fee of 0.005 and try to also see if there are third party fees and their breakdown? This whole topic of fee structure / route alternatives / add-subtract liquidity is something I cant find very transparent information on. For example the other day i exited two separate positions the exact same way, with a set up to add liquidity (as per Andrew hotkey setup in a recent webinar), from the exact same hot key. From the exit of the first position I received a rebate, from the exit of the second position i was charged $60+ ECN fees (this was sim). thanks nik
  20. Lee, I am still in SIM and trying to figure out IB fees. In particular, I think something you were also trying to understand, is whether the fixed rate of 0.005/share includes ECN. On their website it says that it includes everything except 'transaction fees'. Then they show in a table what the transaction fees are and those don't look like ECN level, but much smaller. So what is your experience with the fixed fee? Do you get charged ECN in addition to the 0.005/share? I am assuming the tiered structure adds the ECN separately for sure, correct? Thanks nik
  21. Thanks Rob, makes sense. Seems you can't have everything perfect with a single setup.
  22. Rob, thanks for the detailed post. I have two questions. You say "hard to short stocks". Does that mean that the process of doing it is slow, or there is less availability than with IB for example? Do you know if it is possible to link an E-trade account to DAS? The IB fee structure does not seem to be good for low cost stocks. Say you want to trade a $10/share stock and trade 10000 shares. This is a ~$50 fee one way, while with my Etrade account it would be at most $4.95. Even if you trade a $25/share stock and want to buy 3000 shares. This is ~$15 one way with IB. Well, at least this is what I am seeing... When trading small sizes IB makes more sense than ETrade. thanks nik
  23. Dan and I were also there. Were we sitting at different tables? Here is my cell for next time 303-332-8166. cheers nik
  24. This Thu and Fri are pretty busy for me, but depending on when you decide to meet I will try to make it if I have an open window. nik
