DAS Trader - Hidden USER ID Question?

Recommended Posts

rom30

Hello BB Traders,

I have a DAS question.

I am interested in making an instruction video on how to use DAS Pro to scan the premarket for gapers. However, in my video I do not want to show my DAS User ID.  Is there a way to hide it? I noticed that the person that created the video below has hidden this information. So I assume there is a way to do so.

I've have poked around DAS looking for a way yo configure this and I can't find it. I would appreciate your help..

Thanks

Sincerely,

Romeo Vela

Hi Romeo,

Thanks so much for thinking of making this video I truly believe it will be helpful to members.

Depending on the software you are using you can have the features to block your account number. What software are you using to record?

Here is my recommendation:

1. You can hit the Status Bar by going to Tools and Uncheck Status Bar. This will hide your account number from the status bar

2. You can also hide the account number from the montage by right click on the montage and the layout config. In the layout config remove the Trade from the right column. This will hide the account number and the rest of the trade options. Once you finish the recording you can bring it back.

Worse case you can send me the video and I can use Camtasia to block your account number. Feel free to email me with any questions. [email protected]

Thanks.

Carlos.

Hi Carlos,

My recording SW is OBS Studio. Which I am new to, thus I don't really know if it has a feature to block parts of the screen. I think I might be able to do it by creating a source a blocked area and overlay it.  In my intended video, I will be moving windows around thus blocking a portion of the screen may not work. I'll keep playing with OBS to see if I can figure out a way,

As far as your recommendation #1,  this won't work because turning off the status bar also turns off the tabs on the DAS desktop. I need the tabs as this is part of what I intend to show in my video.

Regarding recommendation #2, I am not familiar with with Camtasia to know if this is possible.

I wonder if how the creator of the video referenced in my post did it.

Thanks,

@Lee W May you please let us know how you put the black bar over your account ID? Thanks!

Thanks to PeterD and/or Carlos for this idea:

It is also useful to save a Desktop (file .dsk) with the Unchecked Status Bar and Trade section from Montage, therefore every time you need to record a video you just load the "recording.dsk" file.
(The default desktop file will be automatically loaded every time you open the DAS platform.)

Correct. This is how I keep my set up now even when not recording. Keeps the account hidden.

Got it, yea I am not familiar with OBS and if it has that feature. Camtasia is what I use to record (is a paid software which sucks) but has this feature to block any information.

Looks like Lee made this video lets see what his response is. Thanks.

Carlos.

If you are using DAS Trader Pro, you can also change the appearance of your account by adjusting what is shown on the montage whether you are recording or not.  I have renamed my account as "REAL," so I never have to worry about my account number ever being shown in the event I forget to do any steps in the making of a video.

I changed it by right clicking on the lower part of the montage > Trading Settings > Highlight the trade account in the bottom right of the screen > create a trade alias (I typed REAL) > save. I needed to reboot the system for it to take effect, but it worked.  I hope it works for you as well.
