DAS not letting me out of trades

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. So I'm  having this problem where some days DAS does not let me sell to exit a position. If I'm going long on a stock that's in SSR, and I try to sell, it rejects the request, ,saying that I'm not allowed to short during SSR. It thinks that I'm trying to short instead of selling.

Has anyone had this issue, and what can I do about it? I lost $800 today because of it. How can I trade with something that I can't always control?

I have yet to see Andrew have this problem, does that mean it's my broker's fault?

This is a known issue with CMEG. Please take a look at the CMEG reviews posted in the Brokers subforum. This thread in particular highlights the issue:

Hmmm I wonder if this was the issue I had closing a position back in March/April this year..due to SSR...welp not trading stocks on SSR with CMEG is the lesson here. Sorry for your loss nmarnson, that is really awful. CMEG should be able to waive the platform fees for a couple months due to this and help you recoup your loss, they did for me pretty easily, contact them and ask. One of the reason's I'm working my butt off doing TPS reports until I have 25k the trade with (potentially lose).

Yeah, I'll just be staying away from SSR until I can move from CME to the US brokers. At least I know going forward, better now than with a larger account. Thanks!
