My Trading Stats (Live)

Recommended Posts

I have decided to post my weekly statistics here. I am still on a Sim so commissions are not being factored. I am going to continue on Sim for another 3 months at least.

Nice stats, Nassar. I noticed you taking 2k shares of $MU. What is your Buying Power set to?

Based on the P&L and those share sizes, looks like you're returning < 0.05/share on average. Is your strategy to scalp small moves with large size?

Thanks for looking Robert

It's actually 1000 shares  tradervue reports it as 2000 cause it counts buy and sell.  See attached screen shot.

My SIM is set to 25000 dollars.

I do both scalps and longer holds. Looking at my own results I have market many trades where I exited to early and is a known improvement for me.

Hope to keep getting better

Not a bad week, 4 Green Days, 1 Red day.

I knew Friday was a chopfest and I knew when I should have stopped trading, but I am happy did not let the hole get any bigger. Good Week.

NOTE: The Tradervue Trade list doubles the Traded Volume as it counts Buy and Sell, so if it says I traded 2000 on MU for example, it is really 1000 share Round Trip.

Thanks for looking.

Process improvements

There were a lot of stupid trades, like going long MU chased it right before Close of PDay.... Keep an eye on the context and big picture

Pressed the wrong buttons

My Profit factor at 1.94 is good, but need to improve my win rate from 51% - Target should be 70%

Lesson learnt: Market condition may be choppy and your strategies won't work... Stay OUT!!!!

Still sensing FOMO when Andrew or Brian call out trades, this ends up a chase and ends badly usually....

Traded like a Jack Ass. I initially put it down to Market and being in the wrong stocks. I literally did this for 80% of the trades today:

Chased steeples (FOMO)

Cut some too early for no reason

Entered some near levels

Poor trade Management and poor entries, I am the only one to blame here. These were all potential winning stocks.

This is my Friday conundrum, it happened last week, I sit on a nice profit and go in Friday looking to lose. Gambler takes over.. Need this to stop, all this Rookie Mistakes do not need to happen, either I fix or stop trading Fridays.

Good thing is, I did not loose as much and forced myself to walkaway with a $300 loss without trading.

I way over traded, 2 - 3 good trades would have given me higher than my target.

Excellent tracking!

When your up for the week it builds this sense of over confidence, for me at least, and I tend to become more aggressive and take trades I shouldn't. When I am up for the week and feeling that euphoria type feeling you get especially when trading in real account, i found trading less the next day or smaller size helps you protect profits you made that week.

Any-who, keeping track of your trades this way will help you big time when you go live! Great job.

Thanks Carlos, that are some great ideas.

I am also thinking of initiating a give back rule. I make the bet trades in the first hour, so I want to ensure I keep most of those (25% Loss limit) -

For Friday, I am thinking maybe 20% of weeks profit as max loss (when we have a profit) - and also implementing your suggestions.

Studying trades is critical, I tag them as Early entry, chased, FOMO, jumped out early etc. so I can analyze my trading patterns and fine tune based on that.

Currently noticing 40% as chased, although 1/2 were winners I could have done better by increasing profits on winners and reducing losses on losers by double at least.

It also helps me analyze my best of day, best strategy, time of week etc.

I intend to keep posting these weekly stats, if you want to see details as to the tags LMK.

Thanks for looking @Carlos

@nassarsyed I merged your two weeks stats into one post. I invite you to create a running post in the Day Trading Journals subforum (if privacy isn't a concern).

Up $2630.80 for the week, really tough week, I was down 1 of 5 days. I should have lost more, but was lucky and only lucky. Last 2 days I treaded carefully.
The Gap -n=Go low float strategy stopped working, so I switched to more conservative strategies and reduced my size. Saved by the skin of my teeth...,  Lesson learnt...
I need to be a mature, confident, trader, this week's trading was far from it....

So been looking at my thoughts for the week.

I traded well, the lesson to be learnt is that you have to quickly adapt to the market. If you a static strategy, you will make money but you will have to sit out on days you deem just not right for your strategy. I get bored.

Over the last few weeks, I had great results, that was mostly due to quick reversals and 1 minute Gap-N-Go ORBs on Low Floats. Mind you, those worked, but the market than became exceedingly choppy and I kept getting stopped out.

My love hate relationship with IQ turned out okay. I managed a 1.53 profit ratio with 65% wins. Which is in line with all other trades.Although last week I only managed 1.09 & 58%.... I need to stop getting personal with specific stocks. Lesson learnt.

My overall weekly stats were 1.39 & 63% ration. Overall prior to this week I have been doing 2.01 and 57%. I need to hit 2.0 and 70%, means I am still leaving money at the table and chasing.

Next week Process Goals
- No more chases
- Scale out properly and let runners do their work
- Start taking trades based on proper R:R
- Stop Low float strategies until I feel confident the market can support then again
- Get into the "Zone" - have a firm belief system.

I am disgusted, broke every single damn rule and weekly process goals.

- Chased Stocks with bad R:R
- Moreover chased in first 5 minutes
- Moreover traded without my belief system,
- ended slightly green, but should have been a rock solid Green day, my Playbook "Valid" Trades all did awesome
All my rookie stupid trades hit me hard...., I still have work to do, Belief system is where I need to spend time.

Today was a decent day. Took only 2 trades, both winners. One was based on Andrew's call and the other one I was anticipating an ORB on PAGS  (Breakdown) - although the PAGS one reversed, I was able to get out and profit. I could have took more on ASTC, larger position size wise, but I was being cautious. I did enter both prior to the 5 minute rule but there was good justification.

I could have managed account better and squeezed more out of both trades but I was erring to side of caution.

I consider today to be a very choppy market. All Stocks that were in play started emulating SPY later so there was no concrete leverage. Best thing I did was walk away with profit when I had it, which in itself is a process improvement. Both my trades were Playbook qualified with good R:R.

Tomorrow is going to be a tough day for me.

- I am traveling so will be trading off a single laptop screen in my hotel room with limited time.

- Andrew is away

- there is some uncomfortable situation at work causing some stress.

I want ant to see how I perform. In figure, knowing my state of mind I may not trade. This is a test.

Was able to trade okay, achieved 2.0+ ratio with 50% win rate. Good day, did not go large. Thanks to Brian for SBUX, I did take a few trade, 1 was pure emotional.Today was a day to exercise patience. I still have a long way to go. Ended green for the day though.... Not bad on a travel day sitting on a laptop without a mouse trading from your hotel bed...
