Trading Terminal Simulator and stocks to use

Hello All

The standard advise is to use a simulator to test a bunch of strategies for a month / or test 1 strategy 20-30x. To find out if the strategy suits your personality and it 'feels' easy to execute and you just execute automatically when the criteria are met. Log, evaluate, fine tune.  All good stuff. 

However, half the battle is choosing the right stock for a strategy - with scanners in a live account , that can be done, I guess even just attend BBT chat room. 

I'd like to get through 5-10 trades on the simulator per day but the simulator is based on history - a scanner won't help here as it is only live data [i think...]. How do we find suitable stocks to use with old pricing for simulator training?
