Hi Moha,

I'm starting my trading process and I'm also as you are, but starting to get a clue to how to find them.

First, find previous day, 2 day high and lows and extreme recent levels (where big candels and large wicks occured).

And also, remember, you should find zones, not exact points, so those levels can be moved to where there has been touches several times.

I found this video very helpfull:

Hope it helps.

Take care!!

Why do you think you're struggling? Support and resistance get broken all the time, they are simply an area where we are looking for price action/volume to tell us something is going to happen, either a breakout or for it to hold. If we break out of a resistance area then shorts have to cover and breakout buyers come in potentially leading to a big move, big players know this and so will do fake breaks all the time to trap retail traders and take their liquidity at the best prices. If you have a resistance line at $150 and automatically trade short there without any other signal then you'll get trapped a lot, it will likely be resistance but it doesn't mean it won't break and even if it does hold it'll often trade to somewhere around $150.10 - $150.80 and then reject to trap people. For example AMZN on Thursday had resistance at $105 but it traded to like $105.20 before rejecting.

There is no support or resistance that can't break and will allow you to automatically long at support or short at resistance, you need more confirmations than that.

If you're looking for someone who is looking for something to happen at these high timeframe support/resistance levels then I'd check out Megan, she has a video in the education center here about it.

Support and resistance take time to learn to spot it on the chart. Remember, S/R are areas you are interested to trade off, but you don't trade immediately, you must look for confirmations. I draw S/R from daily. move to 240 min to confirm and then adjust them on 60 min chart. The best S/R are those where Support becomes Resistance and vice versa. You look at recent Price Action and where price consolidated. This on the bigger TF will be a range or a channel. You look also for places where the price sharply reverse. You must pay attention where the price is today in relation to the S/R level, how likely is to reach there. For example, you have a range on daily, overlapping candles, and you look on 60 min and the price action is above MAs, close to a multiday resistance. Although it is a perfect resistance it is most likely to be broken and stock to trade higher, because now is a breakout area and on 60 min looks bullish, HH and HL and the resistance will become support. You don't just draw S/R levels because they were touched few times, you must analyze the daily and 60 min or the TF you are using.

I place more importance on the bodies then the wicks, unless the wick is really long, 2+ times of the body of the candle. I look for min 2-3 touches. Then set an alert to notify me when the stock is near the level. Not all of your levels will be reached so don't beat yourself and some will be broken. As said above there are fake breaks and you must look for them when price action is at level and look on the left of the chart what the price action did before reaching the level, what is happening at the level, is it throwing a big volume and wide range candle in the direction of the trend, breaking the level or consolidating just below the level, and the volume dries, likely will trade higher, is it extended from the MA, how likely is to pull back to the MA, reversal candles, struggling at the level, stopping volume. That's all must be part of your strategy.

The way I learnt to draw S/R levels was for months, going through a list of 100 stocks and check where the stock reverse today on 60 min and daily. I will draw a line at LOD/HOD and move to daily and 60 and look where it touched the same level previously and what the price action did at the level.  I would do this every day, late in the session. Later I started to draw levels and will not trade the stock but will check if my level hold. Over time my eyes started to spot the S/R levels the moment I look at the chart. It is really difficult to explain in words how to draw S/R, same as Price action it comes with practice and screen time.

I trade reversals and level is only one of the criteria to take a trade. Remember they are only areas where you are interested to take a trade. They will not be precise, sometimes the stock will not reach the level by 1-2 cents, sometimes will trade through the level another 10-15 cents and will fake break and reverse.

You can have Yesterday High and Low and 2 days High and Low automatically plotted on your charts. Go to the STUDY and set them.
