IB ETFs trading issue (Europe)

Hello BBT!!

After 1 year of studying and sim trading I funded my live account to start my journey. I live in Europe so i decided to open an account with IB and today I realised I do not have permissions to trade ETFs. Tried to contact them about my "retail trading" account (if somehow is possible to solve the issue) but I wanted to ask if anyone figured out any solution for this particular issue?

Hi @aparissi

Congrats on the next step in your trading adventure and moving to live.

I'm not sure if it's the same issue, but I had to go into my IBKR Settings --> Trading Permissions and enable Complex or Leveraged Exchange Traded Products to be able to trade ETFs.  If I recall you have to answer a couple of questions before they will authorize.

Hopefully it's as simple as this for you and good luck with the trading.
