Closing position with stop loss delayed, slow.

So, I wrote something like that:
ROUTE=LIMIT;Price=Ask+0.05;Share=BP*0.25;TIF=DAY+;HANDINST=ANY;SSHARE=0;BUY;Route=STOP;StopType=Trailing;TrailPrice=0.05;SELL

Spend quarter of my buying power on stock of my choice, then set trailing stop sell on that position. When I am trying to close/escape this position, delay is up to 5s, doesn't matter what kind of stop is that, actually, any stop sale 'escape' is delayed.
Can we make it faster ?

Hey,

Thank you for the quick response.
BP*0.25 NUMBER of shares not WORTH of shares <= OK my bad

second your hotkey has syntax errors - the BUY and SELL  <= Actually it works on training account, the same as BUY=Send and SELL=Send,

HANDINST=ANY <= OK, here I learn.

Problem is somewhere else, I see delay with any 'sell stop', market, limit and trailing, set by key, button or set manually in montage. To close, I am using 'Panic' or 'ROUTE=MARKET;Share=100;TIF=DAY;SELL=Send'

Should I expect that Sell/Panic call on the top of Sell Stop will be always that slow ?

One last question; where I can find explanation of the ROUTE commands ? I am in Canada, I use Interactive Brokers+DAS.

Hi,

I've recently developed the same problem in DAS with IB. I've always used the same Hot Buttons, the scripts originally copied from Thor's in the room drive.

Never had any issues until about a week ago when I could not exit a trade, even with the PANIC button. It has happened three times now and so far has cost me around 3R. Not huge money but I'm beginning to get anxious when its time to exit in case it doesn't work again.

This is my SELL Button script:

CXL ALLSYMB;ROUTE=SMRTM;Share=Pos;Price=Bid-.05;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send;

I notice PeterB that your script uses the SMRTL route instead, would this be worth trying do you think?

Thanks,

Matt

Thanks Peter,

I'll change the route and contact DAS support re the trades I've had issues with.

Cheers,

Matt.

Yep, I took a look at this, two of the Stocks I've had problems with are $BSX and $PCG just today. My understanding is that they are both relatively High floats.

I also checked my internet connection, Ping speed and that DAS was fully updated.

It's just so weird that it has started recently when I've been trading trouble free for almost 2 years now..
