The two tools I have found helpful for this are:

PowerToys FancyZones – Divide your screen(s) into equal parts.

and

AquaSnap – Drag and snap windows together.

Using these tools can really help in creating custom desktop layouts without having to “eye-ball” it.

I like one the features of AquaSnap ........... can stick "N" number of small windows together and move as one.
