IB Customer Service

Hi folks over the last 9 months Covid issues has impacted a lot of companies.  But on the same note 9+ months has gone by and IB customer service is the worse it's ever been, at lease my experience.

Wondering what other users are experience and if the BBT Leaders can put some pressure on IB?

For me love the DAS platform (with IB) but with recent restrictions on short selling has cost me about 10k this week.  Since I can't get a hold of customer service makes me want to leave IB.  Other Brokers like Merrill and trade station could short GME and XRT.

Valid point Mr. Biden ("come on man") 😀. Looking else where is a possibility but this was the most bang for the buck.  I think my man issue is they block/restricted to help the hedge funds and not the retail traders/customers like us.

Obviously dddcooke was emotionally trading in order to lose 10k, but if you don't know him on a personal level, let's try to keep things cordial.

 

As far as calling on BBT leaders to put pressure on IB, I don't think there is much that can be done. 

As amazing as these traders on this site are, they cannot force IB to hold shares for something that they believe is not worth holding.

 

That's like asking students of a college to balance the chancellor's checkbook.  Not gonna happen.

 

I was actually able to short $GME myself and I use IB, although the tastiest part of the backside was already gone by then unfortunately.
