ETFs in Interactive brokers

HI, I am not able to buy ETFs like SPY, GLD in IBKR account.. any idea why this restiction?

Second... I'm sorry, but people from Europe can't buy US ETFs...

@Abiel.. It says ' Financial Instrument is not available to trade'...

 

I can do options though on these ETFs..

Yeah, sorry - I should have elaborated. I have read that options is still a loophole that exists. I don't trade them so I don't have much detail on why. Maybe someone else or @peterB can explain if they know why.

If you have further issues you can always either call IB or do a live chat with them - that's the best place to get answers regarding why you can't trade something with IB.
