Micro E-Mini Futures?

@Rob C Crap, I forgot to add that book to the list. Yep I have it and have read it. It is a good book. I do not think Zack is active around here any more which is a bummer. I really wish there was a true Forex community on here.

For someone that has not that much time to trade, you can Swing Trade Forex with just 30 minutes to an hour a day. It really depends on how you want to trade. TradingView is a MUST HAVE I have found for any kind of trading. I purchased the premium plan and I can have countless alerts on my charts that will let me know when something hits one of my trend lines or S&R.

Which book would you recommend as the first one to read?

@Rob C

I would go through that Udemy Course one night and then read through the baby pips website.

Udemy Course: https://www.udemy.com/course/the-complete-foundation-forex-trading-course/

BabyPips: https://www.babypips.com/learn

After that, do you want to trade throughout the day or swing trade?
I have two different strategies/patterns, one for each that I use.

Thanks @Rob C & @Stephen Hunter for the info.  I purchased the beginner class from John Grady.  It's an inexpensive intro course  and I figure that even if I don't move forward with Futures, I can learn a lot from his material on reading the DOM.

I have also been wanting to learn to trade the Futures market. Mainly for the lower account size and to be able to not deal with any PDT rules. I came across the "Day One Traders" site and they have a "Scalping Master Course" selling for $397.00. One of the founders of the site has quite a few videos on youtube and he seems to do really good at his scalping strategy. My question for anyone here is, has anyone ever looked into this particular class or know anything about them?

@Dwtex1 Sorry, I haven't. I have been strictly learning and trading Forex. If you are interested in small accounts, there is nothing as small as a Forex account.

Hey Team,

I recently opened up a futures account and have started successfully trading Micro E-mini contracts (S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and Gold) after day trading stocks.

Anyone in the BBT community trading these micro-contracts?

Advantages are:

  • No PDT rule
  • Can trade accounts as small as $2K
  • The Micro contracts (introduced last year) are suitable for new traders
  • Companies like TradeStation offer no/low commissions on the Micros.

Buck

I used to. I traded the first day it opened. Historic day all made possible by the lovely fed. They just annced options on the micros. Will help add liquidity to them.

Thanks EbertM.  That's why I asked before jumping into that. I thought that was probably the same system. Because I have seen PATS videos as well, and I knew Mack has been doing this a lot longer.

I did end up purchasing the PATS. This strategy is very close as to how I have been trading Equities anyway so it is something I can incorporate into my trading bag and feel comfortable and confident with.

Thanks again for the link for confirmation.

Hey everyone, I am interested also in trading futures and was wondering if anyone developed or successfully modified Kyles hotkeys to set a range order? Can you do that? Ive noticed that the hotkeys we normally use for stocks don't have the same result when in a futures contract.

Thanks!

I trade futures regularly and have been doing so for quite sometime.

I post my trades on Twitter daily (@NassarSyed)

I am strictly tape reader and order flow and I scalp ticks.

not the easiest style but it works for me and I have built it over 1000s of hours of screen time.

feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

thanks.
