Issue when covering on a long position for a non-shortable stock!

Hey guys, i am having a little problem and i was hoping someone could help. So, on Friday I was long 227 shares at 11.35$ on $INO (see picture). When the candle popped at 11.68$, i tried to cover half my position(113 shares) and i got the message that the stock is not shortable on my montage (See picture). I managed to get 1R from this trade covering all my position at 11.55$. Does anyone know what might have happened? Thank you guys 🙂

Sounds like you are trying to use a limit order to sell your shares, and because it's SSR you aren't doing a limit + $0.01.

I would use a market order to get out

50%:
CXL ALLSYMB;Route=LIMIT;Share=Pos*0.5;Price=Bid-0.05;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send;ROUTE=STOP;StopType=Market;StopPrice=AvgCost;Share=Pos-share;TIF=GTC;SELL=SEND

Change the bolded part to whatever percentage you want to sell at.

I’m guessing it’s because you had a stop loss order in place still. This used to happen to me. The system counts your order in place as your “net” shares, so when you were trying to sell partial, your two orders combined (227+113=440 total shares on the sell side).

To fix this you simply need to add CXLALLSYMB to the front of your current HotKeys.

If you don’t have a mountain to climb, find one.

Thank you guys, i figured out what the problem was. When using Kyles hotkey, the stop loss has to be cancelled while covering on a long position on a non-shortable or SSR stock.
