An important topic that most people forget about until they need it: 

Emergency procedures/backups. If you have a trade on, a big one especially... and your internet goes out or something worse and you are dead in the water. Have a solid written plan on what you are going to do with mobile trading apps etc., including phone numbers for your broker if you need to call them to get you flat.

Also trading platform backups on the cloud in case your computer dies or gets stolen.

As a starter, or a novice trader I am not very comfortable with shorting stocks. Even it could be more profitable, as we hear " stocks take the stairs  way going up, and take the elevator to go down.

what is the phycology beyond it, to get comfortable with Shorting a stock as much as we are to the Long side?
