Suggestions for the chatroom during trading hours

If there is a better place to put this, please point me in that direction. I looked around for a suggestion box, and did not see it...

First of all, I have been here since April. This place has improved my trading by helping me to focus on the right stocks. I was trading on my own, and came across Andrew's book. Bought it, and joined right away. I was going to get the Trade Ideas software, but I feel that this community is a better choice.

I don't mean to be critical, and I have been hesitant to say anything for quite some time. But I stumbled upon a discussion in the chat the other day and others were talking about this very topic...

Andrew trades live at market open, and while it can be a distraction to me, I try to listen along (but often I will mute him.) I do not follow him into trades, but will listen to his commentary until I feel it is distracting. (I could really do without the cash register sounds though.) When he starts his trade recap, I mute my computer. I am managing a trade, or actively searching for one, and this is no help to me. So I mute the chat until Brian comes on. I like to watch Andrew's trade recaps later, when I am done trading. I would love to watch him trade live, but I am busy doing my own trading. Andrew is a great trader, I have much respect, and I am not trying to put him down. But I am not in the same league and need a slower pace. It is tough to learn from a master trader when you are trying to stick to basics and stay green.

I really enjoyed William trading live last week, I know a lot of us did. Maybe, if he is willing, he could trade live in the classroom in the morning. If not, maybe another mod would be willing to do it. I know that is a tough job, and not one that I would want. Perhaps this is a way that you can expand your service and make it more useful to newer traders.

Just sharing my thoughts, and I hope it is not taken as anything but constructive. I could be totally wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks Jerry, this is a great feedback. We are aware of it and try to make the best of our moderators. We may separate the rooms, but we also do not want to make community too confusing.

Reg my recaps, do you want me to do them later in the day?

Also, you can mute the sound in your own setting, click on its icon and mute announcement notification. But I will try to disable it for all.

Always welcome to email me directly as well.

Thanks for being a member with us!

I don't know what the answer is. Maybe make a poll here in the forum for all of the members to participate in. It is not all about me, I know. Thank you for your consideration.

Whenever I am trading live pre-10:30am, I will typically get out of the chatroom, regardless of who is speaking. I find the distractions too much for me, including FOMO seeing everyone else posting winners. After 10:30 the market is definitely calmer, and it seems like I have more time to think, so distractions are less of an issue. On my SIM days, I stay in the room to listen and learn. There's a lot of money to be made between 930-1030 (also a lot to lose!), so I try to listen and learn from Andrew and others - try to figure out why they did what they did, what their signal was that lead them to make the decision they did, etc.

@Andrew Aziz - you're a wizard at the open, no doubt, you manage a lot of screens, trades, the chatroom, etc. with ease. My only request would be more teaching moments as to why you thought this was a long, short, etc, things of that nature. It would be nice to have that kind of commentary right when you make the trade, but obviously you have your hands full so I understand if you can't. I personally find it more helpful to understand a person's thinking before they knew whether they were right or wrong (most trade reviews show the charts well after the fact, in hindsight).

Thanks,
Patrick

Sure Patrick. I will try to, but it is hard to make trade and explain 100% clearly. I am practicing to be better at explaining what I see BEFORE making the trade.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I have been thinking the same thing for a while. I have caused so much trouble for myself listening to Andrew and/or trying to trade with him. I always mute him now. It's totally inspiring and amazing to see what he can do (and super entertaining) but it's too wild! It's like learning to throw a baseball from a major league pitcher. I find that I learn more from listening/watching Carlos/William/Brian. Things are calmer and slower, and explained more for novices so I can keep up better. Brian is obviously on another level also, like Andrew, but he's so calm...

In short I think having live trading for beginners to watch would be a benefit, and Andrew for pro traders who have a good track record but are looking to up their game.

People that spend their time telling others what can't be done only annoy those of us out there doing it.

@Andrew Aziz I love watching you trade live, you're amazing. But since I trade myself at the open it has became very difficult.

A simple way would be to record your live trading session and share it on a private YouTube channel for life members only. This way we can see how you trade easily and learn much from your live trading.

Totally understand, you definitely have your hands full trying to be profitable yourself! No worries.

That is an option as well but It demands extra resources, but not sure how many people really go and watch those again. Who has time really?

Overall, thank you for your suggestions. We are aware of it and do our best, but at the end, chatroom will never be perfect.

I think this is the definition of a chatroom/live stream...

The perfect compromise is definitely to mute it for whoever finds it distracting and just wants to read the chat or watch Trade Ideas.

Is it possible to have multiple channels at the same time? So for example, if I want to see Carlos or William trade, I can check their screen and listen to their voice.

- each moderator has a module. I think this helps alot as everyone has a different trading style.

Whenever someone wants to see another BBT moderator, they can just switch screen but also hear their voice

I won`t mute Andrew while I was trading. Actually, I would like to hear Andrew announcing some trading related info; for example, the SPY is up, Market is strong...

Since we have a lot to process while we are in a trade, Andrew`s reminding will help us to be alert and adjust position to ongoing situation right away.

Can you do it more often, Andrew? I really appreciate that.

Thank you for all of your suggestions guys! We really appreciate it, and we appreciate your critics as it helps us improve! We do have different moderators trade whenever Andrew isn't there, which is really helpful to see how different moderators trade. Later on the day we have Norm, Aiman, Peter and other moderators sharing their screens, talking about different setups, and the trades they're taking. Live trading in the chatroom isn't only on the first hour. It's there for the most of the day, though it's less often since the market is getting slower after. We will still consider all your suggestions and see what we can implement to make the chatroom even better than it's right now

Thank you guys!
