  1. Hello All: In the new DAS update, they added Volume at High, and Volume at low. I was very excited about this, since I am practicing the pivot point strategy, but I ran into a problem. When I add the new additions to my chart, adds a line, but the line is constantly moving as new candles come in. In the books I have studied, it just shows one static line each for the point of control, Value high, and Value low, setting a zone to use to find value. When the lines are constantly moving, I have trouble finding the previous days value zone to use for todays trading. I can visually look back and see where the stock traded most of the day, but it isn't nearly as accurate, especially on trending days. Anyone who has used this strategy, how do you best pin point the value zones if there isn't an option to put it on your charts?
  2. Hello Everyone! So I just started reading through Franklin Ochoa's Pivot Boss book. In one of the chapters he discusses the money zones, and in more detail the Value at high, Value at Low, and Point of Control. These 3 are very important areas for the pivot strategy, and I wanted to know if there was a way to plot them on the chart using DAS? I saw the setting for VPOC, which I currently am using, but is there a way to plot VAH and VAL as well? Thank you!
  3. Hello all! So I've been trading the ABCD strategy for about 4 months now. I have a good success rate with it, and this will most likely be the strategy I go live with. I have a few questions for other people who trade this strategy as well. 1. For the 3 bar play ABCD strategy, does this work on the 1 minute chart, or is to inconsistent? I usually trade this pattern on the 5 minute and it works really well. But in the early stages of the market open, this pattern shows itself often on the 1 minute. 2. Where do you usually put your stop loss for the 3 bar play? I find this part difficult, because you have to have made a huge candle for it to be a 3 bar, which means it should be separated from the 9 EMA. If I put my stop loss above the 9 EMA, it is very wide and I don't get many shares, but if I put it above the doji, I run the risk of it pushing up the the 9 EMA and stopping me out. Any comments about this would be extremely helpful. Thanks everyone! Troy
  4. Hello everyone. I've been trading for about 6 months now, mostly ABCD's, but have recently been learning the Camarilla strategy. After reading about VPA, and currently reading pivot boss, I started practicing in Sim. I know that R3, and S3 are important levels. But for anyone who trades this strategy, do you find more success when playing them as reversals, (Stock drops down to S3, and playing the bounce for a reversal long), rather than breakouts? (Stock is below S3, moves up and breaks through, playing a continuation long). I have had mixed success with playing them as breakouts. When trading AMC today, got a good move when the stock bounced off S4, and than broke through S3 and ended up climbing to R2. But later in the day had 2 failed trades when trying to play the same move through S3 after it fell. I am still building my tradebook for this strategy, and would love to know if anyone has had more success playing reversals over breakthroughs, or if they are both pretty successful. Thanks!
  5. I am new to DAS trader, and have been trying to figure out how it works, i am running into a problem. I am currently using DAS pro on the 14 day free trial When I try to short a stock, I can't get it to fill. I enter the stock symbol, number of shares, and price into level 2 montage and click short, and this picture below shows up in the order confirmation. But it sits there until I manually cancel it, and never fills. My trades and positions tab never shows it, and I don't have a red arrow on the chart signaling a short. If I try to short the stock using this hotkey script StopPrice=Price+0;DefShare=BP*0.925;Price=Price-Bid+0.00;SShare=20/Price;Share=DefShare-SShare;DefShare=DefShare+SShare;SShare=Share;Sshare=DefShare-SShare;Share=0.5*SShare;TogSShare;ROUTE=SMRTL;Price=Bid-0.05;TIF=DAY+;SELL=Send;DefShare=200;TriggerOrder=RT:STOP STOPTYPE:MARKET PX:StopPrice+0.05 ACT:BUY STOPPRICE:StopPrice QTY:Pos TIF:DAY+; an error pops up that says price invalid, and wont let me short that way either. I had a similar problem come up when I tried to sell stock I had previously bought long. Either manually, or with the default hotkey, it shows up in the order confirmation, but wont fill and actually sell the shares I own. The only way i've found to sell shares of stock I previously bought is to use the sell all current positions hot key. Any idea what I am doing wrong? not being able to sell or short anything is a big problem.
  6. Hello everyone, I am a new member, and new to the art of day trading. I just downloaded DAS trader, currently on the 2 week free trial doing paper trading, and had a few questions about buying and selling stocks. In regards to hotkeys. The default for buying with a risk reward is 1-2 risk reward, which is ok but I wanted to increase that risk reward to increase the potential profits from the purchase. An example for today, was I purchased 100 shares long of NIO at $15.68, it than went up, but because of the small parameters of the default hotkey, it auto sold the stock at 15.88. Which is an ok gain, but I didn't want to sell at that low of a gain. I went into the hotkey menu and thought I changed it to a .50 profit sell, but on another purchase it sold at .20 again, so I think I did something wrong. I was also trying to change the buy or sell limit hotkey from .10 above/below ask/bid to .5 above/below ask/bid. It seemed like an easy change when I looked at the hotkey script. I just changed where it said .10 to .5 on the script, is that all that's needed to make that change? Final question. Today I was trying to short bngo. When I pressed the hotkey for short x shares and set a 1-3 risk reward, (which is default shift +9) nothing happened. It showed up on order window, but never came up on the active trades, or showed a red arrow on the stock chart symbolizing a short. Likewise, when I purchased stocks to go long without a stop loss, I couldn't sell them back. I pressed the hotkey to sell x shares and nothing happened, and the sell button had changed to short in lvl 2. It almost made me think shorting wasn't allowed, but not being able to manually sell any of the stocks was worrisome, If anything is unclear, please let me know and i'll try to describe it better. It was my first day using DAS Trader, and I don't know coding or scripting, so I felt a little lost. Thanks!
