Should I go with Suretrader?

Hi everyone,

 

I've really looked everywhere for any recent opinions on Suretrader but couldn't find anything, other than an avalanche of negative reviews and bad experiences from last year, with a pretty much unanimous conclusion that CMEG is clearly a better option. But now that I want to switch from simulator to a live account and I'm looking for a broker without the PDT rule, having done all the research I can, I just can't ignore the insanely good (or at least that's what it looks like) commission structure that Suretrader seems to have now: 1.95$ per trade minimum, with 0.005$ per share and ZERO routing fees. Comparing this with CMEG, even with the awesome deal that we get through BBT of $2.95 per trade for up to 1,000 shares, I'd still be better off with Suretrader, because with my meagre account size, I won't be taking more than 500 shares at once and I wouldn't have to pay routing fees either. 

Other than that, the sign-up process went pretty smoothly, and while the customer support was VEEERY slow (they basically replied after 6 hours), my questions were answered and any issue I had was fixed. I also really like the fact that they use DAS, because I've been using the DAS simulator for the past 5 months and I really wouldn't want to use any other platform. But I know CMEG uses it too so this is not really the reason why I like them. Mainly it's the commissions. They look really good.

Has anyone been with Suretrader recently? Is the commission structure really that good or am I missing something? 

I would really appreciate any kind of recent input that you have on them, because I feel extremely confused right now. It looks great on paper but it has horrible reviews.

I have been with suretrader for more than a year now. Not major issues. The commission is 1.95 minimum per trade.

Thanks for your response, Willy! It's great to have some confirmation that there are no problems. I'm pretty sure I'll go with them too.

If you don't mind me asking, what Route do you use for your hotkeys? In simulator I've used SMRTL, like Andrew suggested, but I heard it may differ among brokers. For instance, I know Carlos had to change his Route from SMRTL to LIMIT at some point, using CMEG.
