Thoughts on this laptop

I’m looking to purchase a laptop and use it  in place of my Mac. It will only be used for trading. I’m just getting started with trading and want to keep the cost under 1k. I considered the laptop Andrew listed for beginners in the Trading Tools, as well as the specification listed there. Just wanted  to see if you guys have any suggestions.

Looks like decent bang for your buck. I would have a few concerns, which may not be concerns for you depending on how you plan to use it.

1. I would be somewhat concerned about how legible small charts would be on a 1080p screen.

2.  If you're using it for mobile trading, the laptop is a little bulky and heavy and has a fairly small battery (3320 mAH)

3. If you're using it as a desktop replacement it only has one external display output (HDMI) which would be limiting if you ever have any aspirations of using this to drive a multiple monitor setup.

 As far as the 1080 P screen,  I plan on pairing the laptop with two 27 inch Acer 1920x1080 monitors. The laptop will primarily be used as a research/chat room screen. I saw that it only has one external HDMI port, but I thought I could just get a splitter to pair the screens to it. Thanks again, Josh

A splitter will duplicate the signal to two or more displays, but it won't allow you to have different outputs to different monitors using the same port.  In other words, the external displays will mirror one another.  There are external video adapters that connect to USB 3.0 that you could use instead such as : https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-External-Video-Card-Adapter/dp/B00BUC3M2K .  I've never used one of these and so can't speak about them directly, but it could be a decent solution in theory.

I had a similar Acer model to the one you linked to and I ended up getting rid of it due to a screen problem within a warranty period but I don't know if that is a normal issue.  I agree with Chevey on both the multiple screens and resolution issue.  I had mine set up with the normal laptop screen and one 2560x1440 external monitor and it worked fine but I am not sure how it would have driven a second external monitor.  The laptop you linked to does have one USB type C port so it is possible you could get a USB C to display port adapter and drive two external monitors that way or through a dock like some of these: https://windowsreport.com/usb-c-laptop-docking-station/

The right USB C or, even better, Thunderbolt port can make for easier expansion, but also adds cost.  The docks are not always so cheap either.

Final thought, the heavier gaming laptops with dedicated video are a little heavy for lugging around but I had a case for mine that made it not so bad.  I was taking it to offices where I did consulting and also wanted to be able to close out positions if the opportunity arose.
