Camarilla Trading Study for ThinkorSwim

Recommended Posts

Miah

I've been waiting for Thor's book release to share a gift. I've been working for months on my Cam study for ToS. I would like to present version 1.0 with and without premarket data. And more importantly, it tells you whether to look at cams with or without, and by default only shows you the cams based on Thor's teaching! The option is there to see both, or just one or the other too. Enjoy!

If anyone know of a similar code/study for the BBT DAS Cam Pivots which can be plugged into TradingView (paid/free versions) would be appreciated.

Hi, Miah

Thank you for being a life saver for TOS users like me. I have been using your script for a couple of months and it works perfectly

Can I ask you a few questions that has been bugging me

1) What is the High, Low, Close data that you use for the pre-market calculation in the script ?

2) My Show Cams settings are set to Auto. I notice that after 2pm ET the chart will show both with and without cam lines and the bubbles will disappear. Have you come across such problem ?

3) I notice quite often the distance between S3-R3 is the same for many days across different tickers thus I cannot see if its "insidde" or "outside" day. Is this normal ?

Thank you for taking the time to reply my questions

Regards

Mike

1. I don't understand the question. The secret sauce?

2. No.

3.  Not enough information, but they are correct.

1) Not secret sauce. I strongly recommended Thor's book to my trading buddy and he was reading the chapter on Cam formula. He input the pre-market high, pre-market low and Close of previous day but couldn't get the same lines as the script for w/PMD. As Thor didn't elaborate more on this so we were kinda curious what was the High,Low,Close that you use for the script w/PMD

2) No problem on this. I still get this after 2pm ET but since I only trade in the mornings this is not a biggie

3) I will continue to monitor this and double check with someone that has DAS pro

Thanks for answering

1. If you mean on SPY and QQQ, see my explanation on the script page. SPY trades longer than DAS calculates, so mine is actually more accurate, but they will be different.

2. I have no idea what that's about, maybe send a screenshot before and after on a ticker.

3. See 1.

Hi, Miah

Thanks for your reply

1) Its the regular tickers like AAPL, TSLA, NVDA and etc.
Using TSLA as an example for 3rd March
Premarket HIgh = $195.94
Premarket Low = $193.40
Previous day close = $190.30

Using CAM Formula
R6    192.80
R4    191.70
R3    191.00
CPR    193.21
S3    189.60
S4    188.90
S6    187.80

With Script (please see attached screenshot)
R6    199.42
R4    195.43
R3    193.14
CPR    190.22
S3    188.56
S4    186.27
S6    182.28

This is the CAM formula I use as per Thor's book so I am not sure where I am making the mistake
R6=(High/Low)*Close
R4=Close+(High-Low)*1.1/2
R3=Close+(High-Low)*1.1/4
CPR=(High+Low+Close)/3
S3=Close-(High-Low)*1.1/4
S4=Close-(High-Low)*1.1/2
S6=Close-(R6-Close)

2) I did a reset and seems to be working well. Will feedback again if the problem comes back

Hi Miah,

Thank you for posting this.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but depending on the ticker, I sometimes see the cam price bubbles and sometimes don't. I am using a 5 day 5 min chart and the only thing I'm changing is the ticker.  In your study, I located bubbles at “Time” and left the default time location at 600.

Below are a few screen shots of different tickers and you can see that some show the bubbles for each day while others only show the bubbles on certain days.  I get the same results with different zoom levels on the same chart.

If I change to a different time period, I get different results regarding when the bubbles show or not.

Is there something that I need to change to make this work?

Thank you,

I changed the bubble time location to 900 and that seems to have helped
