Camarilla Pivots Data Question

Recommended Posts

aford0040

Hey Friends!

As a frame of reference, I am using Think or Swim (ToS) for me trading and am trading the cam pivots strategy. I’m mainly looking at R/S4 breakouts.

The cam pivots study that’s built into ToS is based on non-premarket data. Which is perfectly fine and accurate. Now, I’d like to have the same study but with premarket data. Is there a chance anyone can tell me this: Which premarket data does it use? Does it use the premarket data from the prior day to plot the current day OR does it use the current day’s premarket to plot the current day’s levels?

Any help, links, or light shed upon this subject is greatly appreciated!! I feel like I’m close to getting the appropriate levels.

Many Thanks

Andrew F

Hey @Miah

Amazing study/indicator. Very will done! Thank you for the link.

I do have one question about it. I dug through the code a bit and saw R2w, R1w, and so on. I understood what the plots with and without the w are. Are you able to briefly explain what the "a" is on 4 of the plots?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you, I've been working hard on it for months!

I'll look into it, can you be specific?

Good morning (for me) @Miah!!

Absolutely. Here is a screenshot of what I'm curious about. I pretty well understand what all of the other plots are for but these 4. Any light shed upon these would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

Thank you!

  • S4a and R4a are optional, but it allows the dual colors for those levels which you'll see by default. I recommend making the green S4 lines slightly thicker than the red (ex. red 1 green 2) for it to look best.

It's on the page I linked to. I need to clarify all 4 though.

Hey @Miah,

What’s the importance of that level (or the purpose for the dual color) other than an S/R 4 breakout?

It's a buy or sell area above and below them, see Thor's mentoring. His are dual-colored as well.

Gotcha. Sounds good.

Thank you so much for your assistance! I do appreciate it!

And thank you for the study! It's wonderful 🙂
