Trading your IB account from TradingView charts

Recommended Posts

FlourishingWeee

I don't usually read the news letters from TradingView but I did today for some reason, and to my surprise, they finally integrated IB, which means you can now trade your IB account directly from TradingView charts!!

I've been requesting this feature for years, and it's finally here.  I figured I must not be the only one who was waiting for that so... letting you guys know it's now possible!

I'm very excited to try that, anyone else?  🙂

For me it took too long and i now switched to MotiveWave platform.

Trading View is much smoother and faster in showing charts since Motivewave calculates the charts on your computer.

But Motivewave has many more studies that cover almost every trading strategy. Especially it provides a heatmap for Level 2 that looks like the old system Bookmap used.

As a visual trader i like the heatmap of Motivewave very much in comparison to the conservative for me frightening Level 2 numbers of DAS. Bookmap is too much specialised on the Visualisation of Volume in the Orderflow for me, providing not enough other studies for market confluence.

Trading view and Motivewave are suitable for linux traders since DAS does not provide support other than Windows. Linux systems bring much more reliability and almost no danger of getting viruses etc.

But most traders here will most likely stay with DAS because of quick order fill and most moderators using it since day one.

Thanks for sharing. It helps us all to see the diffrent approachs that we take to see the price action. We can compare and see if we can add or subtract somethin depending of our style. Different ideas are fruitful. 🙂

I like the Tradingview Charts too. They are fast and easy to read.

I never tried DAS because of the visualisation of Level 2 and the monthly price. Motivewave has a one time payment. That gives me lesser pressure to trade since i tend to overtrade and better do more sim trades until i see that i am in a good wave for me and be in the right mind set.

I have big Level 2 Orders on my charts. They are the red horizontal lines, so that i can see a ladder building without looking at the numbers. I trade from the trade panel at the right, so almost direct on the charts with some shortcut buttons.  I agree that a key deck is faster, but i sometimes come out better to think a little bit longer. It only sends a trade if i let the buttom loose. This works for me till the 24 sec chart. Faster charts i am not fast enough to trade properly.

I know the chart windows look lot messier compared to yours. I try to make the colurs of EMAs in Fibbonacci Numbers i use.  The Indicators below are oszillators. CCI (3 diffrent ones) as fastest, RSI (with faster stochastics) and finally MACD as slower Oszillator to filter noise. (Colourblue is the slow one of each indicator).

I try to have different fractals of the same chart as windows here MES and one Chart that is highly correlated here MNQ.

So i am pretty happy with the charting i use, besides it opens new charts slowly and if i zoom out quickly the chart window tends to hang. But i came around that in opening the diffrent time frames, so i max the one i want to see.

Thanks Watson for sharing, and giving the opportunity to stay in touch..

I discovered the Camarilla Pivots only recently.

They instantly seemed  to me a great help to get the price action in check and leading to simplification.

BBT now has a section for Cam Pivots on its own in Advanced Courses, well earned!

Now looking what path that leads in trying to trade more on the pivots and volume.

Good hunting to you!
