Currency conversion from CAN to USD with interactive brokers

My IB account is set up as a base currency in CAN

I trade mostly US based stocks

How can I deposit CAN into the IB account and then convert the currency to USD with interactive brokers?  The bank rates are well off the spot FX rates

The convert currency tool in the client portal gives a rate a little better than the banks but still not the market rate per FX. Today USD.CAN is ~1.28 and the conversion per IB client portal is 0.778 (1.222)

 

 

Any help would be appreciated

Correction.  My base currency is in USD on that account
