Erroneous Order Placed Issue

Hello all,

As we all experienced yesterday, there were issues with DAS and IB quote server. Since things were wonky, I had to log onto TWS app on my phone and close my positions. I had some issues there as well, but eventually had everything closed out. I also made sure all my orders were cancelled on DAS to avoid any issues. 

I logged onto TWS app last night to look at quotes and saw that I had a short position on AAPL that was filled mid-day that I was completely unaware of. I called IB this morning and they couldn't see what occurred either at first glance. They said they would investigate. They came back and are blaming DAS and apparently have a record showing that DAS submitted a market order to place a short position which doesn't make any sense since I don't see any record from DAS showing that. I am going to contact DAS next to see if they have a record.

Has anyone successfully resolved this with IB and got a credit for the loss they obtained from this error?

Turns out that DAS said the order placed originated from my risk control settings. Since the position was still considered "open" by DAS, it thought the risk controls for max stop loss was triggered and submitted an order to close it even though it was already closed. Also learned yesterday that DAS was blocking anyone who talked badly on DAS on Twitter Monday and yesterday because of the issues they had this week.

DAS is overall good, but there are some glaring issues that have me considering a switch. I'm glad teh loss was manageable because otherwise this would have been really bad!
