Multiple monitors setup

Hey y’all, I am hooking up multiple monitors for the first time using a docking station.

Can some of you talk about how you have done this with details?

I wanted to know how you plug the docking station into the computer. I’m using the USB port.

I have one monitor plugged in directly into the HDMI port in the back of the pc.

My other two monitors are plugged into the HDMI ports in the docking station. All three are working but I want to know if there’s a better way.

Hi Sean -- I just bought 2 monitors and then realized I only have 1 HDMI port on my laptop. I ordered a Sabrent Thunderbolt 3 to Dual HDMI 2.0 ( https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-TH-W3H2-Thunderbolt-Supports-Monitors/dp/B07KB7NKR9/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=sabrent+thunderbolt+3&qid=1620013844&sr=8-5 ) so 1 monitor will be plugged into the HDMI port on the laptop and the other monitor will be plugged into the Sabrent HDMI port which will be connected to the laptops USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port (the little thunderbolt symbol next to a USB-C port means it supports Thunderbolt 3, which then supports two 4K 60 hz monitors). I've read that there may be a speed issue if a non-Thunderbolt USB-C port is used or if a regular USB to HDMI converter is used. How is your setup working? Wondering if your docking station is plugged into the computer's USB 3.0 or 3.1 or into a USB-C, and whether you've noticed any difference in speed or performance when just 1 monitor is plugged in to the computer's HDMI port versus when the additional monitors are added on the docking station (or if you've noticed a difference between the performance of the one plugged into the computer's HDMI and the ones plugged into the docking station when all 3 are active).
